Morgan SmithPublished 5 years ago in WanderTwo Days in San Francisco
As you can have probably guessed by now, I like to eat, and drink and explore new places. Our own Bay Area never ceases to amaze me with the number of unique opportunities it proffers; there are a multitude of magazines devoted solely to things to do, see, and eat in this area. Since I have been asked so often by visitors for a list of my own personal favorites of “characteristic” SF places to go and stay in this wonderful area of ours, I thought I would just put them here. (Yes, I LIKE to plan).

I spent three years in New Zealand and took a number of Maori history classes from members of the Maori community. Here are some of the facts that I think people get wrong most of the time or don't understand about Maori society as a whole.
Jessica RifflePublished 5 years ago in WanderHow to Take Care of Your Car During the Big Australian Outback Roadtrip Adventure
These days, not having a car feels like not being able to walk. We use our four-wheeled babies to get everywhere, and do everything, especially on road trips. This is when they can sometimes literally feel like an extension of our own bodies. And, like with our own bodies, we have to take care of our cars during road trips. Today, we are going to talk about the famous Australian outback road trip adventure, and the things you have to do to keep your car healthy during this journey. While there are a lot of things you can and should do to keep your car in top form, we are going to list the most important ones, for beginner and veteran adventurers alike.
Marie NievesPublished 5 years ago in WanderBiking Through a CRAZY Storm
It was 2014, I was 20 years old working as a product photographer. I had the urge to do a bike trip from Cincinnati, Ohio to Cleveland, Ohio. So I took the time off work and planned the trip up the Ohio to Erie bike trail. I had a fixed gear bicycle (for those of you who don't know, a fixie is a bike with a fixed gear so you cannot coast. If the wheel is moving the pedals are moving. At the time I rode without brakes because I could brakes with my legs/pedals) and a milk crate. I packed up some camping gear and a backpack full of my equipment, like computer and camera. Being a photographer I wanted to take pictures on the trip and being a product photographer I wanted to work while on the trip. Terrible idea, clearly I didn't think this out because it was so much unneeded weight on my bike back.

I've traveled. A LOT. I was born in Tampa, Florida, lived in Texas, Iowa, New York, California, and most recently Tennessee in the USA. I've also live in Uzbekistan and Germany. In some places multiple cities, in some just one, but it's safe to say I've been around.

Olivia PictonPublished 5 years ago in WanderIt's the World's Smallest Country but Has a Lot to Offer in Terms of Tourism!
Even though the Vatican city is the smallest country in the world, it is a collection of cult art and architecture. This interesting city is located in southern Europe of Italy. With a little more than 1,000 inhabitants, the population lives comfortably, but what's interesting is that no one was born here. Vatican citizenship is not based on birth, but it's only given to people who live in the Vatican for their work or services. More than 450 have Vatican citizenship, including 135 guards, with 5% of the population being women. Cardinals who live in the Vatican or in the Holy Place are considered seats of the Roman Catholic Church in Italy. The Vatican is an independent country.
Osei AgyemangPublished 5 years ago in WanderA Gap Year, Is a Travel Year
During the years of high school, there is a lot of pressure to excel, that grows exponentially senior year. The pressure to do well is immense, all for the purpose of having stellar grades to apply to any college to have the career you want. But what if you don't know for sure what degree or career you want? Teachers, parents, guidance counselors, and more don't allow for much time to figure out the future when they have you planning for it. When planning one's future, it is advisable to take a gap year where a high school graduate takes a year long break from academics to explore, learn themselves, and travel. Taking a gap year can be highly beneficial to future academics in the long run, and is a great time to travel to see what the world has to offer before getting back to their studies.
A Week in Amsterdam
We arrived to Amsterdam on July 23, 2019 to spend a week before our 12 night Royal Caribbean Baltic cruise and had no idea it would be as hot as it was. (104 degrees!) Neither my husband, nor I, have ever been to the city so we wanted to take some time to really enjoy it and take in as much as we could. We have come to learn that once we get off a cruise we are ready to head home and have no desire to explore. Anyone else feel that way too?
Tarah Prater-BurkhartPublished 5 years ago in WanderFor the Love of Cheap Travel!
I like to believe that we all dream of cheap travel, but most of us never take the time to actually figure it out. We all talk about the places we will go, and the things that we will see later in life, but we hardly ever actually take the time to research and go. I have strived for years to travel and experience what I can on my ultra-low budget. One of the most common things that I hear from older people is how they wished that they had taken the time to travel more while they were younger. I do not want to say that when I'm older. Maybe its my own version of FOMO (fear of missing out)...
