No Mercy (NFC Week 18)
Are you ready for some chaos?! The National Football Conference's playoff picture is still insane entering the final week of the season. How crazy is it? Out of the eight NFC games being played this Sunday, only one of them has no meaning. It's true. While only half of the AFC's games are playoff relevant, seven of the NFC's games are highly important. A lot of teams are looking to get either a division title, or that last Wild Card spot. Overall, only two playoff spots are left in the NFC, but it's a stacked card for those spots.

No Way Out (AFC Week 18)
Well, football fans, we're here! It was a wildly insane journey, but we made it to the final week of the NFL season. We celebrated Christmas, we welcomed a New Year, and now, it's time to say goodbye to the 2023 regular season, and a few teams in the process. There's still a lot to decipher in the playoff picture, and so many teams have one final chance to get in and get what they want. Because of this, for the first time, I have to split this up into separate stories per conference, starting with the American Football Conference.

10. Rams 8-7 It was a tough competition for number 10, but the Rams have risen above the rest, and it comes down to one thing. In the playoffs, who would be the biggest problem? The Rams have rebuilt their offense, and they have a Super Bowl pedigree. They are a big threat to upset any team they would see in the playoffs. There are a lot of teams crossing their fingers that the Rams don't get in.

Week 17 kicks off tonight, but I want to take a look ahead to Week 18, the final week of the regular season. We all love the final week, don't we? We've really loved it since they changed the final week's schedule back in 2010. The final week always completes the league's playoff puzzle, it's do or die for a lot of teams looking to get in and even clinch divisions. However, a lot of games lacked a lot of drama, and even saw teams not give their all when they know that they can't move up in the standings. So in 2010, the NFL decided to make all of the final week's games divisional, because regardless of where a team is in the standings, that team wants to give their all to defeat a division rival.

A Perfect Time to Panic (NFC Week 17)
While the AFC has a lot to decide and will need both of the remaining weeks to do so, the National Football Conference has quite a bit left to decide, and it could all be solved before the ball drops. I definitely hope it doesn't, and one reason goes without saying. The other reason is that it would make Week 18 very anti-climactic; we need some spark in the NFC for the final week.

Year-End Clearance (AFC Week 17)
We are down to the final two weeks of the 2023 NFL season, and it's gut check time. The last two weeks are do or die, with the final week putting that phrase to good use. Before 2021, Week 17 served as the final week of the season, but even though it's not anymore, it's still very climactic. In addition, while Christmas was the centerpiece of Week 16, Week 17 is about bringing in the New Year. In the case of this season, 14 of this week's 16 games will take place on New Year's Eve, with no more Monday games for the rest of the season.

Somers Repeats as State Champs with 35-6 Victory
Photos courtesy of and with permission of Somers boarded the bus for the JMA Wireless Dome on Friday December 1 and defending their state title was on the itinerary. Not so impressed, Whitesboro got down the field on the opening possession, and Memphis Ferguson ran 18 yards into the end zone. Only problem for the pretenders, a holding flag darkened their skies, and negated the score. Nonetheless, Andrew Kapica took note for his team. “Now, we knew what it was like to see them score,” he said, and the unpleasant memory stuck.

NFL Week 16 Christmas Day Recap: Crisis Mode in Kansas City
In the immortal words of the late, great Bobby "Blue" Bland, "I smell trouble." Week 16 of the 2023 NFL season ended with a triple dip of NFL action on Christmas Day, and it began with the Las Vegas Raiders on the road against the Kansas City Chiefs. This was the only one of the three games that featured an actual clinching scenario. The Chiefs entered Christmas Day with a chance to lock up the AFC West with a win or even a tie (the latter thanks to the Denver Broncos' loss on Christmas Eve). As for the Raiders, it was do or die. While they were actually alive in not only the playoff race, but the division as well, a loss would bring their season to an end. And yes, for the Swifties wondering, T-Swift was in attendance.

NFL Week 16 Christmas Eve Recap: A Motor City Stocking Stuffer
I just want to say this. I've never been so happy to see a rival win a division title. While I despise the Chicago Bears and the Minnesota Vikings, I can't say that I have that same hatred for the Detroit Lions. The Lions and Packers have been foes for over 90 years, and have spent the last half century plus in the same division. Yet I couldn't help but not find a reason to actually hate them. With the Bears, there's the history and the rivalry; the oldest in NFL history. With the Vikings, it's more than the rivalry; there's some arrogance from that fanbase. The Lions? Nothing.

Can the Buffalo Bills Actually Capture the AFC East?
Well, the Buffalo Bills took the Snake Plissken rout and escaped from LA. Now, for the most part, they pretty much control their own destiny. The Bills entered their Saturday meeting with the Los Angeles Chargers behind the playoff line, but having won back-to-back games against two strong playoff contenders in the Kansas City Chiefs and the Dallas Cowboys. The law of averages, with this team, states that Buffalo will probably lose to the Bolts, because the Bills seem to have trouble with the lower tier of teams.
