Eufy to Eufena. Runner-Up in Already Here Challenge. Top Story - September 2026.
A few years back, my daughter gifted me a robot vacuum. No. Not a Roomba, so delete that thought. She is the brand Eufy, and that is her name. I love Eufy. She is a delight to me, and I saw no need to change her birth name!

Sweet Water. Top Story - September 2026.
The summer sun was unbelievably hot in Spree that day, the kind of sun that makes you feel shell-shocked and causes the world around you to look like it’s underwater. Sandy felt like she was half out of her body, hardly hearing herself as she half-heartedly answered a question her friend had just asked her.

Pumps, Pirouettes, and Pop Perfection: Inside ADÉLA’s Must-Listen Debut Album PRIMA. Top Story - September 2026.
As I embark on my 23rd anniversary of celebrating living in the United States as a proud Slavic immigrant who " was like eight working the night shift to learn English...I'm like a spy, I studied this shit, call me the KG, bitch "...I feel very assimilated, proud, and comfortable calling myself a Polish-American, feeling content in that identity marker, and determined to fill the prophecy of being successful in my own right and on my own terms.

Future Is Now, Can We Keep Up?. Top Story - September 2026.
Future is now. Can we keep up? We are so busy with work, school, and all our daily worries, trying to make sure our future is bright for the new generation. We are constantly doing our best to provide safety and comfort for our children. To achieve our goal, we keep inventing new ways for everything. Because of this, we invented the internet, AI, robots for everyday tasks, and payments that don't require anything apart from our devices.

I Am at Least as Effective at Delivering Parcels as Evri. Top Story - September 2026.
My inbox is awash with spam emails offering me clothes of all different shapes and sizes. There are times when I wonder whether the internet knows me at all. For example, I have never once shown even a passing interest in a pair of leather flares, I do not need an illuminated bomber jacket (yet), and I already own more shoes than I know what to do with.

The Great Fight. Top Story - September 2026.
For nearly two decades, I lived with a weight crushing my spirit. That beast we call suicidal ideation would gnaw on my neurons taking bites big enough to choke on leaving intrusive thought remnants in its wake. I'm not sure one can fully understand the gravity of waking every morning years on end feeling disappointed that they awoke at all until they've lived it, breathed it in with morning sunlight, become it with every aching bone and muscle of a body begging to just give up. Until then, you can only imagine. Likewise, on the other side of such unnameable sadness, you can't truly comprehend the ecstacy within me when I can finally say, "I am happy right now," because no one knows how I burnt down to the ground, my innards charred to a crisp with every phase of moon. Only I was witness to my bare hands cupping ash and pressing inward until diamond bricks emerged for me to lay my foundation with. Blood and sweat and tears poured from me like a rusty faucet, tendons ripped femurs snapped for me to be able to climb and reach this current perspective worthy of so many wows, it was not an easy battle. But it is absolutely possible to survive your own mental warfare. You must simply be a warrior with love for your own survival.

What Would You Say. Top Story - September 2026.
Last Call challenge: Prompt - Write a story inspired by the phrase "last call." "Last call" can mean different things depending on who's listening. It might be the end of a night, one final opportunity, or the moment someone realizes they're almost out of time. Write a story inspired by the phrase "last call." You can interpret it however you like. Set it in a bar, an airport, a hospital, a small town, or somewhere entirely unexpected. Focus on what happens when the clock is running out. Whether your characters seize the moment, hesitate, or let it slip away, let that sense of urgency drive the story.

One Swim More. Runner-Up in Last Call Challenge. Top Story - September 2026.
There is a rhythm in walking, left, right, left, right, makes it easier to think, or harder not to. And thinking to the beat, right, left, right, left, makes it harder to finish a thought, once it gets twisted and irregular, once it isn’t neat. Once it loses that one-foot-after-another flow, so you can either grind to a halt or let it go, and to sate the brain, which loves a purpose, march out another. There’s no shortage.

Vivace. Top Story - September 2026.
Clouds churned on the horizon, a deep slate veil over the vibrant blue sky. In hours those clouds would consume the southern horizon. A young girl peeked through a hole in the turret wall, where a boulder had smashed through long ago. She wore a hardened leather outfit crafted by her father, an older cordwainer who once made armor for the armies of the old kingdom.
