The Ones Who Walk Away From Our "Perfect City". Top Story - June 2025.
In Ursula K. Le Guin's haunting story "The Ones Who Walk Away from Omelas," citizens live in a perfect city of prosperity and joy. The streets are clean, the people are happy, children play in sunlit squares. It is, in every way, an ideal society very similar to what many Americans wish our country to be.

Judith. Top Story - June 2025.
I would visit to massage her feet and help in any other way I could. Her conversation was often about her son, just five years old at the time. She ruminated on what would become of him once she was gone. That concerned her most of all.

My Daughter's Favorite Books: Part 2 . Top Story - June 2025.
About two years ago I sat in a tire place interviewing my eight year old daughter to pass the time. I wanted to know about her favorite books. Back in those days, Judy Moody and Calvin and Hobbes were among her favorites. Since then, she has grown and the world around her has changed. I thought it was about time to check in and see what stories are capturing her imagination as an older and wiser preteen.

TACO & PACO. Top Story - June 2025.
On June 1, 2025 Ukraine conducted a massive drone attack on strategic bomber airfields deep in Russia. So deep the drones had to be delivered in secret double ceiling containers by long-haul trucks. The operation had been planned for 1.5 years in complete secrecy and had been personally supervised by President Zelenskyy. The drone attack was incredibly successful as Ukraine claims it has destroyed 41 bombers, or roughly one-third of Russian strategic bomber fleet. Russia has downplayed the operation results claiming that only five bombers had been destroyed.
