I woke to a rooster crowing and the view of tree covered hills for miles and miles. Outside my window sat my sister's cat, Tormenta (storm), meowing in a familiar rhythm to my dog's howls. She was hungry. I rose slowly to open the balcony door to let her in and walk with her down the stairs where she eats fresh fish from a bowl on the kitchen floor.
