Frequently Asked Marijuana Questions
Potent media sends me all the inbound emails to Potent asking for cannabis guidance. I fashion myself more of a cannabis connoisseur then a marijuana advice column, but I am happy to answer the constant stream of questions. Every smoker should get a ganjacation. Cannabis is a lifestyle, and knowledge is a powerful thing.
Johnny HashPublished 7 years ago in PotentFrom 'Reefer Madness' to Marijuana Legalization
Imagine—if you can—a social gathering of young millennials enjoying a pseudo intellectual debate while passing around the vape. Consider the affluent suburbs, where pre-rolled joints from Willie's Reserve are handed out while guests are greeted by the hosts. Think about the factory workers, truck drivers, laborers, and clerks who smoke marijuana to ease the boredom of the day. Businessmen, brokers, attorneys, and accountants score an ounce or two of quality weed from the firm's friendly dealer, be it a stock boy or another partner. Marijuana, once feared is now as much a part of our culture as much as beer and hotdogs.
Eddie WongPublished 7 years ago in PotentHistory of the Occult, Marijuana and Other Drugs
Inward expansion of human consciousness is never stronger than in times of outward rationalism when the artists, the romantics and the adventurers of society rebel against complacency, against mine grinding boredom, against the current possibilities that stifle imagination. Such a crisis in the human psyche gained momentum during the 19th century against a background of crusading Darwinism and dour, brutal industrialism. It would inspire a revival of the occult mentality. Most were swept along by the carnival of burgeoning western hegemony, whether they wanted to be or not, but others, psychologically the same group of outsiders' as in earlier times, wanted to look beneath the surface in search of a more positive destiny for mankind, a spiritual rather than a scientific awakening. They eschewed the passive stance of orthodox religion (which paradoxically became anything but passive in the hands of Victorian imperialists practicing muscular Christianity on the peoples of foreign lands), and some, often the most talented and inspired, embarked on the journey into inner space using psychoactive drugs such as hash and marijuana as the signposts, the spirit guides to point the way.
History of the Opium Wars
In the 24th of May, 1839, perhaps in honor of Queen Victoria's birthday, the sun rose confidently over London and shone steadily throughout the day, uninterrupted by the clouds which plague even the best of English weather. But Lord Auckland, Governor General of Britain's colonies in India, received bad news from China as he was dining in the customary splendor of the occasion at Simla. In a determined attempt to finally end Britain's opium trafficking in China, the Chinese Imperial commissioner of Canton, Lin Tse-hsu, was holding the British trading community and the British Government’s Superintendent of Trade, Charles Elliot, hostage in their factories outside Canton. The ransom was to be 20,000 chests of opium. Thus began the Opium Wars.
The Future of Drugs
Dr. Nathan S. Kline, was one of the key researchers who revolutionized how society views and treats mental illnesses. He understood the importance of antidepressant drugs for treatment of people suffering from mental illnesses. At the outset he was treated with widespread skepticism among his peers. No amount of naysayers could stop him though.

Matt CatesPublished 8 years ago in PotentFinding Marijuana in Colombia
There's a strange sensation of timelessness, seeing modern planes engulfed in a sea of museum relics in the Colombian airport. It's questionable whether or not these remnants from the past are capable of bouncing down the runway and soaring into the wild blue yonder.
Randy CobernPublished 8 years ago in PotentSwapping the California Grape for Weed
Towering redwood trees, once a sign of unique California coastal beauty, have taken on a new symbolism in the world of marijuana commerce. Where the redwoods grow, cannabis sativa flourishes, producing there, what experts agree, has become some of the finest and most expensive marijuana in the world. The distinction of world supremacy is relatively new. But it is already recognized by botanists, law agencies, growers, dealers and the final connoisseur, the user.
San Francisco's Marijuana Supermarket
Okay, I confess. I was once a customer at the once famous San Francisco Big Top marijuana supermarket. I wasn't the only one. At east 5000 or 6000 other people in San Francisco could make the same claim including Paul Krassner, Tim Leary, the Tubes and an 80 year old shopping bag lady. So it was hardly an exclusive club.

The cogent premises for the legalization of marijuana debate: Marijuana is not addictive - It doesn't matter how many times your wife tell you it is. Science says it is not statistically accurate. Funky Side Effects of Getting Stoned
I never smoked pot when I was in high school. Now keep in mind, I wasn't a goody-goody, I did plenty of things that would be classified as "rebellious" or "bad," but getting stoned wasn't one of them. I think it was because my dad always told me not to and I listened to him, for the most part. My friends would get stoned and I was fine with that. I recall the dazed expression on their faces and the unmistakable smell. As for me, I would much rather do tequila shots.
