When did you last see the storm-tossed sea
Paul Stewart's "When did you last see the sea" prompt.
I love to stand and watch the mighty works of the creator
Be they counted as many or a significant One
It really matters not
who or what you believe in
or not believe in
The decision is purely yours to choose
Yet there is such beauty and majesty
When the angry clouds roll in
Have you ever watched the sea during a violent storm
as nature unleashes all of her pent-up fury
sparking blinding electrostatic fingers of lightening
across the sky...
Masterful and frightening
Mother nature unleashes her fury
neutralizing two charged regions mightily
and exploding them in glorious magnificence
upon the atmosphere
or maybe she chooses to fire up
one on the ground and another in the atmosphere
The brilliant flashes of light mesmerizing
as lightening causes thunder
and loud shockwaves of sounds
to unfold in a deafening crescendo across the sky
The beautiful, deadly 'bolt from the blue'
reaching down to kiss the turbulence of the waves
as both meet in a mighty clash of titans upon the wind
Did you stand in awe, with parted lips, and wonder
as the wrath of the gods played out a mighty war
as all the elements combined to wage a torrid battle
Air (Wind)...Water...Fire and Earth, dazzle
Earth: The element of the physical body
Water: The element of emotions and desires
Wind: The element of the intellect and communication
Fire: The element of willpower and self-awareness
As the power of the universe un-sheaths itself mightily
Reminding us that we are but a tiny speck
within the grand scheme of things
Behold the power and violent beauty of the sea
as nature rages forth in all her might and magnificence
paying homage to the creator of all things
and the gift of life imparted to tiny insignificant us
We quake with fear and realize
that our lives can be easily snuffed out
like a helpless candle upon the wind
Yet mighty are we
For without us to love
What would our creator do...
When did you last really see the sea?

It's been a few years, but June of 2025 we will be boarding our first cruise with my side of the family for, not a three hour cruise, but rather a four day cruise.
