What is equally meaningful and meaningless?

It's only always an enigma

By Elizabeth PerksPublished 3 years ago 1 min read

If a child were to ask you:

“What is the meaning of Love?”

How would you answer?

There is no meaning to Love.

There is no rhythm, there is no rhyme.

Of all the poets and their sonnets,

Across the whole of time,

Haven’t quite captured

The meaninglessness of Love.

Love has no pattern; it has no promise.

It has no rules,

Certainly, no instructions.

Anyone who claims to understand it,

Is the biggest of Fools.

There are many types of Love.

It isn’t singular.

And its perfectly fine for yours to be different

To someone else’s definition of the literature.

But Cupid and their arrows, aren’t just hit ‘n’ miss.

Love is like a puzzle,

The right pieces eventually fit.

A set dictionary definition,

But everyone’s is different.

What is so meaningful, yet so meaningless?

- Call me a pessimist, but I think I’m on to it
