Vocal Social Society's HONEY HAIKU Challenge WINNERS!
Our Queen Bee is Crowned.
This is quite an honour! I truly feel extraordinarily privileged to have been master of ceremonies for what started out as a simple, fun little Facebook group challenge. It is not in my nature to gush or be a luvvie, but in times like these, I feel I cannot hold back!
I am genuinely in awe of the quality of haiku that has been produced. I feel I need to put them in an anthology, make a chapbook, and/or get my Aunt to illustrate them as gifts for the authors... seriously... all these thoughts have passed through my head! I am that bowled over by the quality...
...and all in just a few days!!!!
What an inspiration these creators are!
Today, after a gorgeous week of spoon after spoon of delicious and tantalising poetry, our Haiku Honey challenge has ended. Votes have been counted, and we have our winners. It was such a tough competition to judge that four creators share third place.

Queen Bee and First Place Winner...
If you had never tasted a watermelon in your life, you would be compelled to try one. This is truly exceptional work that oozes melancholy and memory yet simultaneously rings with freshness.
Congratulations Teresa. Outstanding.
Second Place Winner
All I wanted to do after reading this was make a toastie! Words like nuzzled and searing hot brought the anticipation and process of making a toastie alive. Then, that last jaw-dropping word of onomatopoeia with the added exclamation. Brilliant. It truly leaves you hungry.
Third Place Winners
Congratulations to all the extremely deserving winners and to everyone who contributed to what was a sumptuous feast of Haiku.
Thank you, too, to everybody who took the time to vote. Superstars each and every one of you!
Peace and love, one and all.
