The Honest Woman
a poem for those jaded in their search for love
"I just want an HONEST WOMAN. Where can I find one of those?"
She's out there
In the quiet corner of the bustling coffee shop, deep thought caught in a betterment book
She's in the gym at the back rack, newest gym mix playing in her headphones, oversized tee, and messy bun head down, getting to work.
She's tired of introducing and reintroducing herself to people who are only interested in her as a decoration,
or a pretty pastime.
She is rare, and she's realized it.
And now, she is hard to find only in the sense that she finds her time better spent thinking, working, growing.
So, you won't catch her late night drinking in bars with neon lights shining bright.
When it comes to the online swipe-shopping, she's not listed
She's discovered she's worth more than 5 pictures can convey.
And for the one who finally finds her,
and appraises her at her value,
she will choose to share an honest forever.
