The First Queen

an inverse poem

She was the first queen

Legend of the stone age

But no one can tell you

She’s better than you

Because you’re you

And how the mighty have fallen

You want to rewrite history

Refuse to bow before her only

Pretend to

Honor her now when her fuel is spent

She didn’t want to live a life apart in her grand tower

But

Nothing could be more important

For you

Her eyes still shine a heroine’s light

She gave all that you might fuel your ambitions

You say

She’s a dinosaur, some long forgotten has-been

And yet she aches

Her wilting love, a shadow cast

What she must have lived through alone

You could not begin to comprehend

Because

In the end

She was the last one standing, one in a million

I think I like the bottom up better but not sure. Well done, Christy- hidden meanings in a Dino poem challenge, great take on the challenge.❤️

Inverse poems were totally unknown to me until the challenge in January and I find them entrancing! This is an enjoyable read and a great challenge entry!

Wow, Christy, this is lovely and works so well both ways. I often find others' inverse poems confusing, but this is perfect!!!

My hat's off to you. I find writing a good inverse poem very difficult..
