A Dreamers Contradiction
Fingertips reach for the ceiling My mind surrenders to the past Images form a shapeFrom the shadows that I castThough time is moving slowly My mind is racing pretty fastAt this pace I wondercan I survive or just outlast The pull is pure and strong My will succumbing to the callI turn to run awayLose my footing and I fallInto a wall of flowers Yearning to bask in moonlight raysMy reflection now unclear I see something resembling my face It mimics what doBut something is wrong - I’m feeling strange My room is not the same Everything completely rearranged My voice is not my ownSounds like a songbird leave my mouth I try again to speak, but only musics coming out The image of my body lying peacefully in bedWhile a mirage of marching bands play symphonies inside my head I lay perfectly stillLike I’m frozen or I’m deadI feel each emotion coming for meLike a raging sea of dreadSomeone - please come wake me up before the sun breaks through the blinds Save me from the things I keep locked up here, inside my mind Real or a dream- I simply can no longer tellReality is my minds latest fictionMy life’s a constant struggle, stolen from a movie screen A nightmare or a restless dreamers contradiction

These Dreams
A deep, dense fog contains meMy heart is pounding in my chest The full moon rises high I struggle to free myselfShadows seem familiar Though faces seem hidden in the mist I close my eyes for clarity Nothing is what I think it isTime loses it’s existence A shadowed face, fingerless handsI fight the urge to stayMy body weakened by commandsTo stay here without question To live my life amongst the damned Floating in the airLost and locked away - in a masquerade of dreamlandsCan the hero make itCan he save me from this dream Before I float awayIn this fast flowing midnight stream I’m sinking below the surface My breath like bubbles in the current Held captive in the flow like a lover on the hunt At last I’ve been delivered My body ravaged by the torment Of this I am convinced Nothing in dreams explain the events The mind the last frontier Unexplored and never tamed Faces remain unknown And the content- unexplained
