sad poetry
The cathartic nature of poetry makes it one of the best outlets to channel feelings of sadness, emotional turmoil, grief and despair.
Rotted See Ya's
Where does it end, I wonder Inside of you or inside of me? Caged or broken or lying on The wilted linoleum floor? Did you empty your dreams Down the drain like your little Picture books instructed? I wonder if you cried when The night sky hid behind a veil, Tucked its face away from Your inquisitive eyes. You thrashed in your sleep And screamed until the renters Finally made a fuss. There are flies buzzing about In the dead expanse of your eyes. Doesn't it remind you Of our little goodbyes? Rotten in the mouth already And buzzing with insects, The goodbye was too old. Be sure then to eat it quickly Before the rot has a chance To sink into the flesh Of whatever fruit this is.

Tomorrow is not Guaranteed
There is one tragic truth to life: Either you outlive everyone you love Or they end up outliving you Very few leave this world together Very few spend their entire lives as one At some point, we all must separate And say goodbye to those we care for most Whether we are the ones leaving Or we are the ones left behind And who knows what we will find When we’re on the other side? Perhaps we will be reunited Perhaps we will be suspended indefinitely Perhaps we will be gone—nothing We do not know what lies beyond Those final goodbyes So cherish what you have today Tomorrow is not guaranteed And forever is not what it seems
