Performance Poetry is poetry out loud; poems brought from the page to the stage.
Last lap, last lap, engine still hot Every rival in the dust, every doubt I shot Trophy in the trunk, but I’m already gone

Tires screaming like they got something to prove Every red light turn green when I move Pedal kissing the floor, engine singing the blues
Remember when we had to split that last slice Now we were counting blessings, addin' digits on ice You held me down when them fake ones dipped
So when the lights get low and the road gets rough When the game get tough and the times get tough Remember this bond that we built from the start
Started with nothing, just a dream and a plan Two kids from the block with the world in our hands Shared the same hunger, same fire in the chest
late nights, no lights, just me and the plan turned nothing to something with blood on my hands they smile for themselves but they don’t understand
An empire is rising fast, built it brick by brick now they want a piece when the whole thing lit I was out here grinding, they were sleep on the kid
Now the block feel different, like the air got thin Every corner got a story, every story got sin He was trying to win, but the game rigged in
They try to keep up, but the pace is too much Every move I make got the city in clutch Sweat on my skin, but it’s diamonds that shine
Steel gates slam, lights flash red in the hallway Mama crying on the line, "they took my baby away" He was just chasing dreams, now they chasin' his name
Walk in the room, thermostat drop dead Every eye on me, yeah they know what’s ahead Sweat on their brows, they ain’t even moving
I seen them come and go like the wind through the trees talk loyalty loud but they move like the breeze I kept it a hundred while they played it greasy
