Sunk cost fallacy
How does it feel to let go? Like two ships passing in the night, our connection was barely above replaceable. My core wounds lay open and bare. I couldn't fix you in hopes it would fix me too. Commitment was too much to ask of you. I would go into withdrawal because of my addiction to you. You were trapped while I was alone to wallow in my own misery being without you. I felt like a burden you wouldn't shift for. I tolerated your need for distance but you wouldn't cross that ocean for me. I would have waited for you at the bottom. This is the kind of love that asked too much of me. Touching you left you exposed. I couldn't reach piece of mind even with you right beside me. I was left chasing our potential together as if my life depended on it. It would have killed you to reciprocate. I allowed you to dictate where we were going. My patience extended far past my boundaries. I became attached to the breadcrumbs you spoiled me with. Even in your company, I barely felt being chosen. I loved you even when you felt unlovable but you couldn't make me feel the same. Your walls were too high for me to overcome. I had barely begun while you were already done. You craved silence while the same silence kept me paranoid. I saw love in your eyes but it still was so distant. Your fear of intimacy left me wanting more. I thought space would ease my pain but it only made me more uncomfortable. I kept pretending I was happy with how little things were progressing but I still needed more. To be enough to cross that threshold for. To leap into oblivion and discover what we were meant for together. How does it feel to let go? You were my best friend and my lover, so many things rolled into one. That was too much pressure for you to handle. You couldn't be my savior meant to deliver me from my own transgressions. I have to save myself and put myself back onto that altar I placed you on first. I would have waited for you in hopes that the universe has a bigger plan for us. I will become the person I've been searching for. My own salvation, my own deliverance. The constant fear I expected you to cure. The anxiety I forced on you even as your own propelled you backwards. The cycle of you running away and me forever chasing you to heal my inner wounds. You were not the ultimate destination I convinced myself you were. We felt the love I sought but only in certain increments. The amends I'll make to myself in hopes you'll find space in your heart for me. You can come out of hiding and stat where you were vigilant. Our differences were not so different. You just had another approach to this conversation while I spoke in another language. I planted this idea in my head of all that we could have been together. Instead of realizing what was already in front of me. You were just enough for me to want to be chosen. The emotional security I kept searching for would not originate. The inconsistencies I kept being disappointed by. The answer to my prayers but I should have been praying to myself. A holiness I brainwashed into existence. A god incarnate that was hesitant about a future with me, about longevity. What kind of trauma did you refuse to learn from? What kind of defect within you did you keep returning to? My love would have overlooked every flaw and utter shame we both shared. My despair would have been buried for fear you would not accept it. You were a stoic soul that was as emotionless as a stone artifice. Did I mean anything to you while you meant the world to me? I had plans for us but those plans relied heavily on us evolving. My anxiety would not allow me to face us as we truly were. A bundle of insecurities you could not rescue me from. I didn't want to be a chapter in your life while you were an entire novel in mine. How could we create magic while you still eons away? I can't give you any more of what I'm depleted of. These natural reserves have become exhausted masquerading as what I was hoping you would need. I couldn't love you the way you needed to be loved. It was at the cost of my own mental health. If there is a reason for this delay, for this inevitable ending, I will absorb this loss. I don't have any more to offer you that you could benefit from. I had to cut my losses for the sake of my own sanity. My nerves forever on edge as if they were inches away from a massive precipice. I would have jumped if you had jumped with me. I continued to sacrifice my own happiness because hope kept me hoping. These patterns will not change if I do not acknowledge them. I can't afford to lose myself anymore. I am so far behind from my own advancement. I was taking advantage of a love that refused to be mine. If you can't be mine now, maybe you'll be mine later. The door is not closed on us indefinitely. Despite all of my ill-fated attempts, I could not hold onto something that would not allow itself to be held. The intrusion was too much for you to take. What does love mean to you? How does it feel to let go? I don't know if I'll ever know. Life threw us so many curve balls that our trajectory separated. Our symmetry might align someday but until then, I'll learn to love myself. I can't chase you down if you didn't want to be found. I can't force a relationship if love was such a curse on your lips. How does it feel to let go? It feels like a burden relieving itself. I've held my breath drowning in your shallow and empty waters. You were the shore meant to sustain me while I brought myself back to life. I can't keep reminiscing over memories that do not exist. A potential future that was all pretend. Reality plays by such harsh rules. Why would the universe bring me such harsh pain? What lesson is to be learned? It feels like love has yet to find me in a happy place. I'm still searching for that happy place. How does it feel to let go? It feels like returning back to myself. I hope one day I'll know. You're still in my heart because I made space for you. Maybe you'll make room for me in yours one day. For now, I've relinquished my hold on you. You're free to leave and go the other way. If we meet again, it will be on healthier terms. Farewell, my love. I hope you find peace and comfort in your search for happiness. Love was kind to me once when it was in the beloved shape of you. How does it feel to let go? One day, I'll know

Empyrean
I've exhausted myself in constructing my tower to heaven. To reach the ever blissful Empyrean but it's always out of reach. It's a rabbit hole I'm spiraling into. You're my obsession because you're the desired perfection. The reassurance I could never give myself. The validation I could never find no matter how much I look. I kept digging but kept creating false earth. I tried leaping towards the fire but it would not have me. The rejection is what I fear the most. The abandonment is what I feel I deserve. I could never hope I'm the best because it's never the truth. I'm not good enough to reach the place where I matter to you. I keep trying to reach the level where I could meet you. I'm always imagining I'm beneath you. This flimsy ladder won't hold my weight. To reach the divinity of your celestial light. You're not perfect but neither am I. I want to be flawless but my insecurities are always the highlighted features. Why am I always trying to be more when all I do is isolate? I sabotage myself because it's easier this way. I believe in all the conspiracy theories about myself. The doubts that amplify, the pity that will never die. I keep missing my own expectations and worry that you'll never accept the real me. Full of anxiety and lamentations. You are the epitome of illumination. You represent all I hope to be. I keep putting you on this damn pedestal and pray for your deliverance. I want to be rescued from my own misery. I want to be saved from my own suffering. Everything I put myself through, I do unto myself. I put myself through punishment because it's all I deserve. I want to cross the bridge into Empyrean but the gods will not open the gates. The doors are chained and locked and the fence is electric. I want to be spared the pain from being myself. To see myself as worthy. To be the holy scripture that you can't live without. To be so sacred that you worship me. I cannot worship myself. I require permission to exist. To be the glorious deity that is allowed into paradise. This ascension alone will not suffice. I want to be the source of the perpetual light that I always sought. To see myself how I see you. This monument of flame was built out of desperation. This monolith to inferno was created to reach something I know is not there. This ancient column has been rebuilt over and over again. I cannot jump from this skyscraper into Empyrean. Empyrean was never there. I have wasted decades in believing if I continued to construct, makeshift Eden would embrace me. The shrine of Utopia would catch me as I fall. You are not waiting for me in the fields of Elysium. You are right here holding my hand. There is a possibility of completeness I will never explore because I am not supreme. I cannot be because it is not real. What would it feel like to be whole? To be honest with yourself and still love yourself for all you cannot accomplish? To rise above inferiority even though it was never really there? Empyrean ridicules me for believing in a radical aspiration. I am the masterpiece that is still being sculpted. You are the love that I cannot give myself for fear of failure. To be something so epic that you dare not miss out. I have worn out my desire to climb to Empyrean. Empyrean is a fable used to keep me in restraints. I am brave when I am with you. I can master being strong when I am alone. I can learn to be brave all on my own.

Unrepeatable Moments
Time may not solve everything, but solutions often emerge with time. Even if the past has saddened you, giving yourself time will allow you to better face the future and begin a new life. Some things may cause pain, but time will allow you to gain the perspective needed to face past setbacks with a smile.

SITTIN' IN MY BLUE ROOM . Top Story - June 2026. Content Warning.
SITTIN IN MY BLUE ROOM 1967 This is a 1967 poem from my archives. The world in the 60s was a different place. Girls were 2nd class citizens. Boys were perfect in every way. I am sharing these poems to focus on staying in 2026. I believe in equality for all. Let’s learn to love not to hate. Girls need college and careers not top to just rattle pots and pans.
