Exhibit A
the name I was given filed incorrectly, lost somewhere between the papers and drawers, between pending and closed, with no one looking for me since, I am Jane Doe. Exhibit A — the body. flesh cold as stone, guts torn to tattered ribbons along the floor, organs removed and catalogued, weighed and frozen, forgotten among the sea of other Jane Does. Exhibit A — the case file. a folder. a number. something lost long ago that quickly gathers dust instead of answers. reclassified as insufficient, as in, it’s been years since, no other evidence. the case is cold. nothing else is. Exhibit A — the trial that will have no verdict. too much time passed, not enough witnesses willing to testify. I am Exhibit A — the body, the case file, the trial, everything broken and unfinished, marked, then unmarked, outliving the evidence diminished over time still waiting for the court date to come for someone to come looking, for this to count as proof of something. Exhibit A — is nothing. is me.

“I Had a Dream of Two Suns”
Author’s Note This little poem came from a dream that felt more like a memory, a soft glimpse of a world where light doubled instead of dimmed, where people remembered how to smile, and where the sky carried every color, it ever held. I wrote it simply to capture that feeling, the kind of dream that stays with you long after you wake.

Static Blues
The bug zapper is where the moth finds its death metal, where lure and life come together and cease to exist in a static snap. and then what? another carcass for the arc. this moth and I circle the lumens of the pseudo moon to find our bearings lost in hues of static blues, penning asymptotic thoughts in field notes, butcher's cuts, cannibalistic, so close to the truth it tastes like tofu. though the truth is flesh and bone, not this faux taxidermy— we splay its limbs to study it again and again bloodless until the zap— and we are somewhere else perhaps brighter, darker: a seraphic static beyond veils or a pixelated null where fluorescent perceptions snap their binary spine
