art
Poetry and art go hand in hand; in fact, a poem is just art in the written form.
"Should I Depart Early" Unofficial Poetry Challenge
Hi, all! For those who haven't seen my poems from last week - yes, I'm back on Vocal after a long-ish hiatus. And yes, this has happened before. What can I say, I ebb and flow like the tide. It's become a regular enough thing that I think at some point soon I'll stop mentioning it entirely! But for now, I can think of no better way to get reconnected with this lovely community than to send out another unofficial challenge, and see what inevitable brilliance you lot conjure up. So without further ado, I'd like to announce the start of my "Should I Depart Early" Unofficial Poetry Challenge!

A Heart Beats for Me Inside a Brick Wall
A Heart Beats for Me Inside a Brick Wall Stone upon stone they carefully laid, Each weathered block another barricade. Some were built from whispered lies, Others born from tear-filled eyes. A few were placed by hands unknown, Leaving a fragile heart alone.

Moment of stillness
A moment’s stillness Livid countenance descend All eyes turn to you ~ Sunset Margate harbour arm. Photo: RGT ~ Some may think the subject unoriginal, but I photographed this sunset with a particular purpose in mind. I wanted to capture the feel of the sudden hush that descended over the crowd in the busy bar where I sat overlooking Margate harbour.
