I met you first and started to like you

But when I got to know you more

You were like a ray of sunshine in my life

Always bringing happiness everywhere you go

But little did I know, you carried a burden

You were broken like me, but never said a word

I could see even if you didn’t tell me

Your eyes couldn’t lie to me

I could see through you

So I wrapped my arms around your neck

Leaned closer and whispered in your ear

Told you I’d be here forever

And I’ll never let you go

Because I loved you first.

Nothing could make me unlove you

Even if you shout or yell at me

When you’re mad or sad

I’d love you forever

Because if it’s not you, it’s not anyone.
