Life of Aalaya

Part 1: "Death"

By D'onte KingPublished 6 years ago 1 min read

I'll tell you about a night of misery...

The worst night of my life.. possibly.

A cold winter's night, my parents were taken from me.

I'd be mistaken, to think they've mistaken me as weak.

I AM!

This is only part 1.. of how my strength came to be.

1 a.m...

My front door was kicked in.

And even though it sounded like a bomb,

It felt as if my heart imploded within.

I can assure my parents felt the same way,

Knowing they would never see me again.

So lost, and at any cost...

At least in my heart, I wanted to kill them.

So lost, but then again...

Is it sin, to desire vengeance within.

It is not! A thought is simply a thought,

but it isn't sin if you don't give in.

Just a young sweet baby girl,

not even a teen...

But I still can hardly fathom the things I've seen.

As the tears explored the landscape of my face.

Fear, doubt and anger crept and found a place.

Wait!

Come back!

Severely frightened and traumatized..

I couldn't react.

My heart screamed those words,

But none of them were heard...

Except BY MYSELF...

which is the card life dealt me.

All alone, it was freezing cold..

But the blazing fury inside kept me warm.

As the story is told, I must be bold..

Because the enemy was preparing to swarm.
