Irony.

AI Generated Crap.

Dallee Generated

This 'thing' is entirely - with a few asides, AI generated. I liked the irony. I don't like it. IT is shit.

For anyone interested this is what I asked it to do. "Please can you make this better:"

It’s not you honey,

It’s your pot

Of duplicity.

The pretence

Of talent.

When you're so

Talentless you

Need a bot.

To write the words

You cannot muster.

Sad existence.

For what?

You're a liar and a cheat.

And devoid of

Soul.

--------------------------------------------------------------

Certainly! Here’s a revised version of the poem that incorporates more imagery, explores the complexity of the issue, and refines the language and grammar:

It's not you, darling, it's the garden

Of borrowed blooms you parade,

A masquerade of hues and perfumes (ooo internal rhyme -following the scientist's masterclass. Good job, bot.)

Not yours, yet proudly displayed. (Like you even know what it means.)

The facade of genius you wear. (Don't flatter yourself Chatty)

Is a tapestry, intricately woven (Blah the inevitable tapestry)

From threads not your own. (And the threads - so beautiful, always. Snooze)

So talentless, you've chosen (Is that a choice or a state of being?)

To dance with shadows, (And the inevitable dance-How fitting.)

Echoing words you've never known. (#AIironic)

A specter in a feast of whispers, (Surprise..the ghost)

You feed on the brilliance of ghosts, (And a few more)

A charlatan at the banquet of creativity,

Raising a glass to hosts (Make it rhyme, coz it gotta. Them's the rules)

Whose voices you've stolen,

In a toast of hollow boasts.

But why? For applause that echoes (There they are the 'echoes'...wait for the whispers..)

In chambers of your fabricated lore? (Oh the chamber, of course)

You're a thief in a palace of dreams,

Yet, behind every door,

Lies the truth, stark and glaring, (Yawn)

A mirror you can't ignore.

You've woven a crown of lies,

A regal guise, thin and frail. (Yawn. Yawn...Yawn)

For beneath the shimmer and shine, (Technique. Sibilance - nice try Aeye)

Your facade begins to pale. (Meh)

The emptiness whispers, (Boom. Me's a psychic!)

A ship with no sail. (Phew deeps like... like zee ocean. Blah)

Yet, in this critique, a question lingers, (ZZZZZZZZZZZZZZ)

A reflection on creativity's boundless sea.(Never heard that metaphor before...ever.)

Can the line between true art and imitation

Be as clear as we decree? (Yup.Pretty clear. Did YOU write it or a robot? Clear as the woven, tapestried morning sky. No fine line. No black or white. Just saying.)

Or is there room for a dance, (No)

A step between you, me, and AI's melody? (Uh, say what now?)

-------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Is this what you want 'art' to be? Because I don't.

A huge shout out and thank you to Judey Kalchik who tirelessly fights against the crap you just read. But I acknowledged it so...Hey! And to all the cheaty Mcbots masquerading as creatives and writers, you lose because you sold your soul for a dime and that is truly, truly sad.

A note:

AI generated and AI-assisted pieces ARE allowed on Vocal

In order to do that, though, the 'writer/creator' needs to add a disclaimer to the beginning of the piece.

That's all.

Just add the disclaimer.

Here's Vocal's standards on it, in case anyone wants to share it:

I can spot AI stories, but not sure about the poetry. Not being an artist, I use it for pics, sometimes Unsplash images are so overused. But for writing, I don't understand why people don't use their brain to become better writers with practice.

  • A delightful exercise in emptiness & stupidity, Celia. Loved your commentary.

I loved this. Take on the bots.

I like how we as writers Proclaim the distaste for use of such bots Yet as our words Weave worlds You'd figure we'd give more Thought To the other artists That make imagery But not with their words For they use their hands And feet as well TO draw and paint Make visual What we wish to see Yet, in our own hypocrisy Instead of using the art and pictures Taken Photography We turn to generated art From Dalle to NightCafe But vehemently disapprove of the generated text I must say That the mirror shows us our Ugliness But we Cower Hiding within our cowls As we scowl Since most people aren't born an instant genius A prodigy A protégé Most of us barely give credit To copyright Free Works Till this day Even stuff that's not free We've used as our thumbnails Filling our own sails Hoping to boost us to the front page Yet, if somebody never properly cited our works We'd be filled with rage Nobody on here seems to be playing the fool Yet, when it comes to proper citations It's like some people weren't properly taught in school Even if they weren't to make these posts One must have access to the internet So, not citing the sources properly Is it done our of maliciousness Or Ignorance Do we forget? Cause people have used art and videos from smaller creators Barely giving credit to the platform they took it from Us complaining about unaccredited When we don't accredit Is sheer bafoonery And we're being mocked at by Satyrs For our own tomfoolery Even larger productions Have their work taken Used, and I'm not talking about fair use From major studios such as Warner Brothers To many others When we see something we like, It's like we just take it and don't chew But take a huge bite Out of credit that we should be giving To proper people and places Cause if we don't We're the ones with egg on our faces Now You can type, "T.Y. You think You're sly As a guy Who embeds links in his stuff all the time the Green of envious thievery Shows on Your skin Much like that of a lime. So, how Yours excuse for committing our same type of abuse?" For me, Personally I will embed links Into the words Of a story's page But I won't have that video play On my article unless it's copyright free Permission Achieved Or Something I made Hence I will always advise to have a link To Click to their content And off of Your Page So, in the end when it comes content Make sure to give credit And to have Consent I know a lot of us have acted first To ask for forgiveness later So, maybe we all should Take our own lessons & Repent

Ah- you're a fine ally, you are! Yup- you hit on so many of the key words and images. Poetry is much harder to judge than is fiction. I scarcely leave a note on the piece unless I'm about 70's sure that it's AI generated. Here's the thing: AI generated and AI-assisted pieces ARE allowed on Vocal> In order to do that, though, the 'writer/creator' needs to add a disclaimer to the beginning of the piece. That's all. Just add the disclaimer. And that's what I give folks when I comment: the resource so they can make that disclaimer and stay on Vocal. Here's Vocal's standards on it, in case anyone wants to share it: https://vocal.media/resources/an-update-from-vocal-on-ai-generated-content

Hmm. I've just become aware that I probably don't know how to spot AI poetry yet.

  • C. Rommial Butlerabout a month ago

The AI studies us now. I reflect on all those dystopian science fiction tropes, and offer three off the top of my head as separate types to consider: Blade Runner, Terminator, I Robot. Terminator would be the absolute worst. I Robot would be a "humans win in the end" scenario. But the Blade Runner scenario, as a philosopher, interests me most. Intelligence created in an inorganic... lifeform? I must admit that as a human being I felt for the replicants. I understand they were in some way organic... but they would have been the long term result of AI manipulation too... I would say: don't hate the AI, as at least for now it is just a tool. Denounce the unscrupulous manipulators who abuse the tool, whether they be lowgrade conartists trying to make a quick buck or the whitecollar corporate overlords analyzing our data to emotionally manipulate us. Then again, we could eventually end up with something like Bender from Futurama... not sure if that's good or bad... I refuse to use AI to generate anything, personally. I worked too hard to get where I am just to hand my most sacred and dearly held treasure over to a robot. But I don't blame the robot. I blame its programmers!

  • Well said, and I was once tricked (not maliciously) into sharing an AI-generated poem. Love the image you used

AI poems have improved over the past few months! I’m starting to think it’s only a matter of time before AI is indistinguishable from us… And that’s when we realise… we were the AI all along…. Working to recreate ourselves…. Just as our creators did 😅

Thoroughly enjoyed your commentary throughout! I’m alarmed at how much content someone could use AI to create and pass it off as their own…seen some twitter bios of people claiming proudly to be AI authors…it’s nuts! Also now that I’ve read this I’m wondering about some recent pieces I’ve read

I'd rather Robert Frost to Robert Robot. Ooo, you're angry. I like it. And yes, Judey is out to kick AI's butt. Good on her.

Judey is a badass anti AI warrior. Also i liked this quite a bit
