forget language

show me the

g e s t i c u l a t i o n

of your jowls

as you realize

your joy and grief

a m p l i f y

the melody of

your blood mixing

with infinity

e c h o i n g

through the chasms

of your heart

r e v e r b e r a t e

my core

with

your blaring

song of life

draw the very

e s s e n c e

from your lungs

distilled like

s t a r r y

mist

into the cold

blustering air and

bathe me in your

slow

e x h a l e

by the

tempered light

of the

frosty night

u n v e i l i n g

your soul against the

script of the

m o o n

paint the energy

of your being

onto my canvas in

g o l d e n

sequences

and whorls of

c e l e s t i a l

arrangements

and i will see

w h a t

you are

read you in

peaks and valleys

in sacred geometry

say

N O T H I N G

and i’ll hear

e v e r y t h i n g

that is uttered

in the whispers of

your being

in the

w a v e s

of your design

show me the

rawness of life

r e s o n a t e d

in the

vibration of

your form

u n r a v e l

your code and

s p l a y

it before me

smear it

on the

m i r r o r

of the starlit sky

and

then

t h e n

i will begin to

understand

the you

that is you without you

under the words

and

pleasantries

the you that exists

b e y o n d

invented

d r i v e l i n g

the you that is more than the

limited options

of manmade

s y m b o l s

s t r u n g

t o g e t h e r

by threads of

tongue

speak to me

in your

l a n g u a g e

the one that exists

only to you

one that can’t be

i n t e r p r e t e d

by anything

but the

q u i n t e s s e n c e

of which you are

smother me

in the

t i m e l e s s n e s s

that is you

the bits that are

c a l c u l a t e d

down to the final

root of the galaxies

s p a r e

me

the this

and

the that

give me raw

f r a g m e n t s

pieces and petals

b l o w n

through the fields

and

beneath it all

in the splintered

b r e a k s

of

blistered bark and

drippy sappy

r i n g s

the loamy rich

w i l d

soils of you

sprouted from

worlds beyond the

d e p t h s

sing to me in

l i g h t

a nebula in

c o l l a p s e

the brilliant

explosion of

r a d i a n c e

at your conception

show me the

e s s e n c e

of you

in its purest

most

u n i n h i b i t e d

form

the form

from which you came

b e y o n d

the bounds of

skin and bone

muscle and brain and chatter

g o

d e e p e r

s t i l l

to

the code and calculus

of your

e x i s t e n c e

please

i long to

s e e

the vast

s p r a w l i n g

expanse of

e v e r y t h i n g

that is

About the Creator

Kristen Balyeat

Words fly to me on the wind, bump me as I'm strolling the city, splash me in the face while I rest by the river, and shake me awake in the middle of the night—I’m humbly one of the vessels they use to come to life.

Also, i love you:)
