Hanging By The Thread

It is a commentary on the state of our world and how we all interact with each other.

The world is always changing and there will always be issues that need to be resolved.

Do you think that there are more issues nowadays? Or do you think that it feels like it because the issues are on full display on the internet?

The world is hanging by the thread.

Some acknowledge it.

Some deny it.

Some just stopped caring.

When it means taking accountability

Having a proper discussion,

And taking collective action

It’s just much easier to pass the blame.

Distraction on the TV.

Distraction on the screens.

Anything but the feeling of helplessness

Of watching the world scorch to ashes.

What is even the point?

When no one wants to change.

It’s easier to stay asleep.

It’s easier to watch the days go by

Than choosing a different path―

Than embracing the unknown.

The world is hanging by the thread.

But it’s easier to blend in with the masses

And label those who believe differently.

It’s easier to stay the same.

Because it’s too painful to change.

After all, humans live such short lives.

What is even the point if you can’t be happy?

But no one has the right answers for you.

At least, not the ones they can truly practice.

It’s much easier to complain online

Than to practice what we preach.

It’s much easier to hate

Than to love and show empathy.

It’s much easier to live in ignorance.

After all, it is bliss.

And so, we would rather blindfold ourselves,

Than to accept that we all are

Hanging by the thread.
