Good Girl

A poem

What it takes to be a good girl

To follow the rules, speak when spoken to

Respect authority, respect your elders

Just nod and smile

You'd be more beautiful if you smiled

Keep a clean home, put flowers everywhere

In every place that you feel shame

Ignore that man who stares at you everyday

And follows you,

He is just admiring your beauty

And you should be grateful

That he thinks you're beautiful

Because you're not perfect

You'll never be

Unless you read those magazines

Wax your eyebrows,

Take care of your nails

Stay in shape, don't eat that cake

Keep your hair straight and shiney

Brush your teeth

With charcoal every couple weeks

Don't drink coffee after breakfast

Your breath will stink

Be a good wife, a good mother

Be a good sister, aunt, daughter

People are counting on you

Don't you know, it's up to you

To support those around you

To keep this world together

Cause boys will be boys,

You gotta know

What it takes to be a good girl
