fear of falling

you’re falling in love, and it terrifies you

Only a man could admit his fear of falling

From heights far too high to survive

Because everyone knows that

A lesser man would jump to prove himself

And a boy would avoid heights all together

But not you, never you.

You admitted it, bold faced and truthful,

When confronted with your obvious fear

Because why lie?

Especially when the truth is written

In your eyes and behind your smile

And in the way you laugh and talk

But also, in the way you kiss her,

Pulling her in like she’s oxygen and

Anyone with eyes or ears would say,

You’re falling in love, and it terrifies you

Especially when it’s her because she,

Well, she isn’t survivable in the literal sense.

She will ruin you if given the chance

Because she’s a psycho like that.

She leaves no survivors, takes no hostages

And she’s unforgettable in the worst way.
