Till quiet is the world and all is night,

Before the twilight suffocates the day,

Between the loving darkness and the light,

To my own mind I run and hide away.

Along the line, my broken heart, it lies,

Without a partner, wandering, unsure.

Within my shell, my crying soul, it dies.

Among the fires, pain is so obscure.

Beyond my mind there lies a gruesome scene.

At sanguine carnage I am bound to stare.

Above this place the ocean is unclean.

Behind me stagnates toxic tainted air.

In spite of knowing not your bloody role,

Inside my heart, your acting takes its toll.

About the Creator

Michelle Truman | Prose and Puns | Noyath Books

I fell in love with speculative fiction and poetry many years ago, but I have precious little time to write any. It was high time I started making Prose and Puns a priority, starting with Purple Poetry, Auqredis, and the World of Noyath.
