Don't Give Up On What You Feel

A Poem

Don’t give up on what you feel

My love and affection can help you heal

When your vulnerability and insecurity screams

And the tears drown your cheeks like rapid streams

Not that fanciful love that you see in the movies

One that’s raw, real, and rough around the edges

Living as an open book can be a challenge

To fully show your scars and damage.

*

Don’t give up on what you feel

My embrace can help you heal

When you want to retreat into your shell

And hide within your own internalised hell

You will have a safe space to weep and wail

Even when your tears storm your face like hail

Living as an open book can be a challenge

But one that comes with a unique advantage

My love, affection and warm embrace can help you heal

So don’t give up on what you feel.

I really enjoyed this Paul.☺️ I wrote something slightly similar last night (yours is like 100x better) but it’s super cheesy (it’s not ‘drafted’ - doubt it will see the light of day knowing me)…And inspired by you lot on Vocal.
