the cherry trees
weep
in pink.
the concrete
cracks
in jagged edges.
tears dissolve
the barren spaces
like acid.
where there was nothing
there is life.
the kind of life
that holds a thorn
in the barren graveyards
between dying flowers.
the kind of life
that cannot be forgotten
with the wind.
the one you miss
(secretly)
in the morning
when the sun shines
and the birds chirp
and there is coffee.
cherry trees that do not cry
wither and die
like hearts unwatered.
slabs of concrete
sink into oblivion
if they do not grind
their stubborn teeth.
i step on pink petals
and they have tears
unlike me.

Amazing!! A well-deserved Top Story
This caught my eye and made me click because of all the cherry trees in blossom where I am right now. It makes me wonder what kind of stories these trees could tell if they could talk
I really like this poem! πΈ It talks about cherry trees crying in pink petals, and how the concrete breaks into sharp pieces. It shows how tears bring life to empty places, just like acid. π± It's about finding beauty and growth even in difficult times. The poem reminds us of the things we secretly miss, like the cherry trees in the morning, and the feelings we carry with us. βοΈ It's a powerful reminder to appreciate life's little moments and to nurture our hearts and surroundings. Great job! π

"the kind of life that holds a thorn in the barren graveyards between dying flowers." I can't quite express why, but this piece of verse was beautiful and it really spoke to me. And it made me feel strangely nostalgic for something I've never known, the petals from the cherry trees to be precise. A wonderful poem, Sara! Congrats on your Top Story
