Caught in a Trap

Mental Gymnastics

When your mind is in turmoil (image courtesy of designbump.com)

So you're caught between the skipping rope, you're caught the purse

The arguments you have at home are everybody's curse

You're caught between the self-made-self the whomever you wish to be

you're stuck with your own decisions and independencies

And time will tell if right or wrong and time will tell it clear

the questions you pondered on, too long and the answers that you fear

for time is everlasting and we, my friend, are not

Does everybody live their lives for reasons they've forgot?

You're caught between the love you want and the love you cannot have

you're caught between the future and the past you want so bad

You're caught up in the present and all that lay ahead

You're confused with all that's happened and all that has been said

And time will tell if right or wrong and time will tell it clear

the questions you pondered on, too long and the answers that you fear

for time is everlasting and we, my friend, are not

Does everybody live their lives for reasons they've forgot?

You're caught between what has to be and what might have been once more

You find you haven't any keys to open up past doors

You feel it ripping at your heart and tearing at your mind

You start seeking out and searching for things you cannot find

And time will tell if right or wrong and time will tell it clear

the questions you pondered on, too long and the answers that you fear

for time is everlasting and we, my friend, are not

Does everybody live their lives for reasons they've forgot?

You saw a flower growing. you were there at the very start

with a warm and glowing feeling felt how pride filled up your heart

Yet memories are all you have odd visits now and then

and all the time and all the years this heart it will not mend

for time is everlasting and i, my friend, am not

I think that I should live my life for reasons I've forgot.
