About the Creator

Kristen Balyeat

Words fly to me on the wind, bump into me as I'm strolling the city, splash me in the face while I rest by the river, and shake me awake in the middle of the night– I’m humbly one of the many vessels they use to come to life.

'c a t h e d r a l of the W i l d' I'm reading Michael Christie's "Greenwood" right now and this is a phrase he actually uses in the book, though not quite so lyrically as you do here. This is a lovely poem Kristen!

This felt like a mental yoga session. I'm going to have my partner do this. Nicely done Kristen, this could have turned out corny. But your words were the right ones and they piece always felt like it was moving and flowing toward something.

yeeeeeeeeessssssssss!!!! This is one of my *favorites* of yours so far, Kristen!! Agh - the music gives exactly the right sensation… and then where you *go* ✨ 💫 One of my favorite lines (of about 60 favorite lines from this): “…receiving more than she could ask…” Gosh this is such a tricky specific peccadillo of conscious life to describe and you loaded it all into just six words… 🤯 your set up and context for that moment were just perfection. 👏👏👏👏👏👏👏👏👏👏 bring on TS!! 👏👏👏👏👏👏👏👏👏👏

Absolutely divine. I drank this in and breathed it out...a perfect way to start my day, reconnected and rebalanced. Thank you, Kristen. I could read one of these every morning. Soul stuff. ❤️ 🙏

  • I love meandering with you, Kristen. The patient, gentle flow of words & images, so tactile in their expression, lingering in each moment & sensation, soaking it up & breathing it in.

  • Great piece 💖😉

I love your style of writing. Your worlds float effortlessly off the page well metaphorical page, it just sounds weird to me to say screen. I write to music too. It frees the soul. I often find myself dancing to the rhythm of the songs I play in my chair as I type away.
