A kiss

She moved swiftly, chopping, mixing, sautéing, cooking a meal she had made so many times before. But this time it meant just a little bit more.

He stood there talking to her as she cooked, making her laugh with stories of his friends and the past.

It was her favorite thing, listening to his voice, seeing him smile.

At the end of a story, he paused and asked, "is there something I can help you with?"

She paused, turned to him and smiled, knowing exactly what she needed. Taking two steps forward, she said, "why yes there is something..." and grabbing him by the shirt she pulled him closer, pressing her lips to his.

What he did next surprised her. You see he did not pull away from the kiss. Instead he took control, kissing her deeper and moving her toward the wall.

Her back pressed against the wall, he kissed her passionately, tongues entwined, a fire inside her ignited.

Then he stepped back, releasing her and leaving her breathless.
