But all of the dreamings never prepared us

For the real you

The love

The compassion

The want to learn

The want to help

The first moment our eyes met yours

We fell in love

The Big Blue Eyes peering up at us

Through a brand new face

Tiny fingers and toes wiggling

Arms reaching out to us

We knew you were ours

As we would sit together

We would feel our hearts

Beating as one

A unit of love

It didn’t take long before you had your first laugh

Granting a fairy life

You laughed the whole day

Those laughs

And every laugh since

Have been so contagious

That anyone around can’t help but smile

Even laugh with you

Everyone would always say

How happy you are

And how you have made their day

So many days

With your smiles

Your Big Blue Eyes

Would gaze into the world

And we can see you creating

Worlds of your own

We have wondered what they were like

And if we will be invited

One day

At night as we’d tuck you in

We’d kiss your forehead

And we would whisper,

‘Good night, love

Have fun dancing with fairies

Fighting with Pirates

Swimming with mermaids.’

And you would always smile

With your blue eyes

Shining up at us

As we have started to watch you grow

Your dreams and personality have grown as well

There are so many good days with you

As we travel and see so many different places

Exploring the world with you

But there are bad days

Where tempers are lost

And fights are had

But even after things are said

You still know

That a hug and showing love

Is the best medicine

We love every hug we receive from you

You in your small form have

Healed our hearts

Stopped our tears

And even calmed our storms

Such a small form

Yet you have so much healing

Behind your Big Blue Eyes

So much love inside

Someone so small

I wonder if you are ever

Overwhelmed with the love you feel

There must be an old soul

Full of knowing

Inside you

A soul that knows more

Than your young mind

Will let show

But we can see it

We see it in your blue eyes

We have already started

So many adventures together

And we can’t wait to have
