At Dusk, At Dawn, This Morning's Sky

by Richard Naviasky

By Richard NaviaskyPublished 2 years ago 1 min read

At Dusk

-

The sun, longing for a rest,

pulls a blanket to its chest

and sinks slowly through the West.

-

The blanket slides above its eyes…

and from the eaves a first bat flies

as bedrooms ring with lullabies.

-

A first night owl begins to sing,

the brightest stars start twinkling

and shadows ooze from everything.

-

-

-

At Dawn

-

Early morning shadows

of grass upon grass...

I wish this would last

a little longer.

-

-

-

This Morning's Sky

-

There. A line of birds

is stitched into the fabric

of this morning's sky.
