A Wild Dependability

The cracks begin to show when the pain escalates,

A heart broken, bloody and bruised,

Tormented with love's rocky abrasions,

Tearing open unsealed scarring,

Ripped raw and shredded to tatters.

Once locked and loaded with revenge,

Softens on meeting a single minded connection,

Doubt and insecurities abound, we question,

The suitability of testing the waters once again,

Striving for forgiveness and healing.

Hope is a powerful incentive,

Dreams unlock the coded heartbeats at will,

The rhythm chants upon our breath,

Releasing the pain, the past torture, the fake memories,

Until resistance is once more overcome.

***

Silence of adoration overpowers our hesitation,

Bonding the rapid butterflies fluttering within,

Excitement building within the future possibilities,

Smothering the trepidation, the anxious, the reversing temptation,

Opening the heart, the mind, the body, to love once again.

***

Systematically proving the best is yet to come,

Swallowing your pride and stubborn refusals,

Believing in the infinity of externalisation,

Growing together over the familiarity of the years,

To become the one connection that holds on.

***

The pain of lost love nothing more than a valuable lesson,

Of inconsistencies unwelcome within a loving heart,

The pounding of terror not a home to settle for,

But the gentle flutter of butterfly wings,

The ultimate beginning of something reborn.

Welcome the blessing with gratitude,

But don't strangle the freedom of emotions,

Flow with the loving imperfections,

Capturing the idiosyncrasies of authenticity,

Accepting all that you deserve.

***

A birthing of an imperfect relationship,

Growing together in blissful harmony,

Compromising at the meeting junctions of personalities,

Maturing into the empathetic half of the whole,

Learning the minute breaths of connectivity.

***

One day at a time, expanding the locked chambers of a heart,

Once shuttered, shattered and blistered,

Turning the brokenness into loving stability,

For that one worthy of the work,

The loving partner earned within the beating of a wild dependability.
