A simple kiss

The only sound that could be heard was the percussion created by the rain.

Pitter patter of water hitting the glass, leaving streaks as the water dripped downward.

The glass becoming opaque with the warmth of their breath fighting against the cold of the outside.

Clouds overhead growing thicker as the condensation within growing heavy.

A rumble of thunder unseen, briefly drowning out the sound of the downpour.

The rain began to fall faster in thick sheets pounding down on the metal of the roof.

Sitting there in the dark as the rain poured down, her green eyes finding his dark brown ones.

The darkness briefly lifted with the crackle of lightning. For a brief moment she saw him smile.

Her eyes traveled from his eyes to his lips.

Without a word spoken between them, he leaned toward her, his lips finding hers, ever so gently.

Lips parted slightly, tongues finding one another softly. His hands in her hair, pulling her lips tightly to his. Her fingers entwined in his beard.

A soft moan from one and a satisfied sigh from the other as eventually they part.

Eyes meeting once again.

The rain slowing down to a quiet lullaby.

It had been a long time since she had been kissed in such a way, and looking at his lips, she craved it again.
