How To Summon a Raccoon, On Accident
Raccoons are adorable, fluffy, and appear to be very approachable in their natural habitat. We find them interesting with their bandit masked faces, the way they wash their hands and food before they eat, and their curiosity for the world around them. It's easy to forget they're feral animals and should not be treated as house pets. I've had several, semi-humorous/heart-warming experiences with these captivating little buddies but one of the most memorable encounters I've had was when I accidentally summoned a baby raccoon.

Care About Australia’s Wildlife: Please Don’t Give Money To PETA
It has been all over the news since the start of the new year and there is no arguing that Australia is facing a crisis that is not caused by war, nor plague, nor by some form of economic depression, but one that has been caused by an ongoing series of wildfires that have spread throughout the nation. Hundreds of people now face the possibility of being homeless for more than 32,000 square miles of land having to have been damaged by the fires and more than 120 blazes still being active in southern parts of the country.

Ric O'Barry Opens His Own “Sanctuary” In Bali
This past October, Ric O’Barry, a radical animal rights extremist who is known for starring in the biased documentary, The Cove, and having long-time ties to other radical groups like PETA, and Orca Network, announced that he and his staff have opened their very own sea-pen based facility for bottlenose dolphins in Bali. O’Barry claims that the facility is the “first” to be a “sanctuary” for dolphins who have spent a number of years in marine zoological facilities. The “sanctuary”, which is located in Banyuwedang Bay, has been raising a number of concerns among zoo professionals for a number of reasons.

The Kitty Chronicles: Figaro & Mittens
I was about 6 when we got our first cats. After losing our pet rabbit, we decided to look for a kitten or two. It took a long time until finally, in my absence, my older sister found the perfect pair at the SPCA. I remember coming home from my dad's place to find food bowls placed on the kitchen floor. When I got down to the den, there on the couch with my sister were two little tabby kittens. They were brother and sister. My sister had claimed the smaller blonde girl, while I settled for the bigger, darker tabby boy. The girl's name was originally Peaches due to the orange spot on her head, but my sister renamed her Mittens because of her white paws. As for myself, after hearing the tall tales of Figaro 1 and 2, whom I've never met, I decided to give my kitten the name Figaro III.

If Only Dogs Could Have Houses...
Dogs, we love them so much that sometimes we even think they are human. We give our dogs human names, watch them develop certain personality traits, and buy them gifts for birthdays and holidays. Everything about the way most people treat their dogs is as if they are our children, so can you only imagine if your four legged friend got to build a house of its own?

How I Care for my Syrian Hamster
Gorgeous, aren't they? Tiny little mouse-like creatures with pink noses, minute paws, fluffy coats and big beautiful eyes. I often find myself wondering how one little animal could be so adorable and bring you so much joy. They are wholly oblivious and unaware of their significance to you, yet sometimes it almost feels like they're trying to make you smile. Of course, they're just being their little clumsy selves, but it doesn't make it any less wonderful.

How to Calm a Dog When They're Afraid of Fireworks
The new year's just passed. And it won't be too long before another event in your city will start shooting off fireworks to celebrate. So many dogs are terrified of fireworks. It's not just the small breeds. True, some dogs don't care. But some, like my lovely Labrador puppy, whimper, run, and hide from the sound of firecrackers.
