In a world bustling with deadlines and digital screens, I found myself longing for something more. I wasn't dissatisfied, but I craved a tangible challenge that would push me beyond my limits. As a lean individual with an insatiable appetite for improvement, the decision was clear - I was about to embark on a 5-week journey to gain muscle through a seemingly simple yet demanding exercise: pushups. The challenge was going to be hard yet i decided to give it a try. Now I am going to take you through the week by week journey of mine, trying to get a bit of sturdier body built.

Week 1: Setting the Foundation

The journey began with that familiar mix of excitement and nervousness. The pushups weren't just about physical strength; they were about discipline, willpower and mental grit. As I lowered myself to the ground for the first time, I could feel my muscles awakening. The first week was about finding my rhythm. I started with what I could handle, 10 pushups at a time. It wasn't about how many I could do in a single go, but about consistently challenging myself. I aimed for 50 pushups in total throughout the day, breaking them into sets. After the first week, my chest and arms ached, a testament to the foundation I was building.

Progress Report - Week 1: The initial week was a reminder of my starting point. I managed to complete 50 pushups in total, and even though it wasn't easy, the soreness was a reassuring sign of progress.

Week 2: Slow Progress and Patience

The second week greeted me with the realization that transformation wasn't an overnight affair. Doubts began to creep in as I stared at my reflection. Could a mere 5-week commitment really lead to noticeable change? But I silenced those thoughts, reminding myself that transformation takes time. The numbers didn't skyrocket, but I knew that transformation wasn't an instant event. I kept my goal steady - 50 pushups - and divided them into sets of 10 or 15. Progress might have felt slow, but I reminded myself that the process was more important than the destination. Each push was a step forward, no matter how small.. As the week unfolded, my arms felt subtly different - as if they were waking up from a long slumber.

Progress Report - Week 2: This week, I focused on maintaining proper form. I completed 3 sets of 15 pushups each, totaling 45 pushups. Though progress seemed slow, the minor changes in muscle engagement were promising signs.

Week 3: Breakthrough and Visible Changes

Week three felt like a door swinging open. The pushups that were once a struggle became a rhythm. It was no longer a battle; it was a dance between strength and perseverance. As I lowered myself and pushed back up, I could feel the tension in my muscles - a tension that felt like progress. A peek in the mirror revealed faint lines outlining my chest and arms - subtle, yet undeniable.

Progress Report - Week 3: A breakthrough indeed. This week, I managed to complete 4 sets of 12 pushups each, totaling 48 pushups. The consistent improvement was encouraging, and the faint changes in muscle definition were motivating.

Week 4: Elevated Dedication and Noticeable Gains

In week four, dedication was my constant companion. The pushups became more than just a workout; they were a canvas on which I painted my determination. Each push was a brushstroke, defining a stronger version of myself. I observed my reflection with a newfound appreciation - the contours of my arms seemed bolder, and my shoulders held a touch more confidence. The numbers might not have shifted drastically, but my body was unmistakably changing.

Progress Report - Week 4: This week was marked by heightened dedication. I completed 4 sets of 13 pushups each, totaling 52 pushups. The gains were becoming tangible, and I relished in the increased muscle engagement.

Week 5: Celebration of Progress and Looking Ahead

As the final week dawned, I took a moment to celebrate the journey. My clothes fit differently, and there was an undeniable sense of achievement in my posture. The pushups had transformed from a challenge to a part of my routine, a constant companion on my quest for self-improvement. With each push against the floor, I had proven to myself that change was possible. As this chapter ended, I knew it was merely the beginning of a story that would continue to unfold.

Progress Report - Week 5: The last week was a culmination of dedication. I completed 5 sets of 11 pushups each, totaling 55 pushups. The journey had been transformative, both physically and mentally, and I looked forward to the chapters still unwritten.

Conclusion

In the end, this 5-week journey wasn't about achieving superhuman strength or flaunting a chiseled physique. It was about proving to myself that consistency and dedication could lead to tangible change. With each pushup, I uncovered a well of determination I didn't know I possessed. While the 5 weeks might have come to a close, my commitment to growth and progress is an ongoing journey.

So, with a sense of accomplishment and a heart full of gratitude for this transformative experience, I humbly look forward to continuing this pursuit of strength, one pushup at a time
