Be Grateful And Move Forward

To Stay Happy should be an ambition for us all and maybe it is. Being happy makes our life better and helps us to get on with others, create and generally feel good. It improves our health, makes us better friends and helps us be in a position to help others.

I am very lucky, I am often in very low troughs and dark moods but a combination of great friends, music, knowing that I need to be there to help my friends who need me, and internal resilience gets me through those times. Not everyone can do this and I don’t think that this is sometimes that can be taught but if you are like me then you can be there to hold other people’s hands.

My life is littered with disappointments but I have taught myself to always look for positives in absolutely any situation, even when there seem to be absolutely no positives. The number of times that I step back, take some time out, look at things in a different way and maybe talk to someone about it then shows up things I hadn’t noticed.

We are often told to practice being grateful and at times I feel that is something perpetrated by those who wish to keep us cowed and subdued, but really if you appreciate what is yours then you start to build a solid base to then move on. Being Grateful does not just mean being satisfied with what you have, although you may be satisfied with it and that is absolutely fine. However, if you want something more try and move towards that as well.

There are lots of things I want and don’t have but I am satisfied and grateful for what I actually have. As I write this I am lucky enough to be listening to the music of my choice.

I have two guitars, a mandolin and a keyboard and I can take these and play music and sometimes share this online if I deem it fit enough. You can see this on my YouTube channel here. I can’t really sing or play an instrument but doing this makes me happy.

Pets are a wonderful source of happiness, stroking them and seeing the love that they have for you is a wonderful feeling, and yes you have to put effort into looking after them but the love that is returned comes to you manyfold. This is something you can be truly grateful for.

I have friends I can phone or visit without a second thought. Sometimes they are not there but more often than not, they are, and they are there for me and that makes me happy.

Friends are a great asset to your happiness and, yes they are something else to be grateful for, but being satisfied with, enjoying, and being grateful for what you have is an absolutely wonderful base to build your life on and to move forward.

  • Speak To friends
  • Make New Friends (I know that take time)
  • Get A pet or Enjoy The Pets You Have
  • Listen To Music
  • Play Music (You Really Can Do This)
  • Write, Poetry is simple and can release a lot of tension

The same with Exercise even the briefest walk can release endorphins and make you feel much more fulfilled

All of this together will raise your spirits and help you stay happy, and keeping doing this will keep you happy which in turn will make your life even more worth living and will spread to those you support and love and who love you. This in turn will make their lives better and will then turn back to make yours even more satisfying.

Do All This For Yourself And You Will Feel The Benefit.
