This card reminded me of my grandson's that are now 18 and 20. When they were small, they were sitting on the couch all quiet, as their mom and I were chatting in the kitchen, and I noticed they were sitting like the photo above.

When asked if they were meditating and who taught them, they said that yes, they were and nobody taught them, they always knew! My grandkids are so cool!

Last week's self-care card that sat in front of me while at the computer was "I am capable of more than I realize". For much of the week, I thought about it, but I didn't write on my grateful list. My plan today was to fill in those blank spaces with:

I am capable of being there for family and friends when they request I be there, and not before the request.

I am capable of helping others, especially those in recovery, who would like my help.

I am capable of doing this upcoming training, even if I have doubts. I know I am capable of being the lead, even though I consider my co-trainer the lead as she has been doing this longer. At least the training, not so much the actual technique. I can speak to working with others, using the technique.

And I can speak to the culture and why it is a good technique to learn and use. I just will need to make it have some childlike sense of wonder for me in the training.

I am capable, and then I added - With Creator God, all things are possible.

Then I pulled the next card one day early as I am going out of town and I drew the following card.

The Little Frog's Guide to Self-Care cards by Maybell Eequay

My husband has this very gift. He is a great playmate for our grandchildren and they all love him. I know I can learn a few things from him and I do. He is a good playmate for me too.

Well, if I think about this card, I know where I may start. John put away my motorcycle for the rest of the year already. At first, I grumbled but then I realized that if I really want to ride, that I could ride the trike as that is still out, and he is riding it. I am not interested I guess, as I haven't ridden it at all.

I've sat on it yes but not ridden on it yet. I need to pull out my childlike sense of wonder! Maybe I can do that when I get home after my upcoming training. My low temperature for riding was 50 as the lowest I will ride my motorcycle, and it may have changed to 60 being my lowest. Yes. I'm a wimp!

It just seems like I can't handle the cold as well as I used to. Then I live in Minnesota all year, where it definitely gets cold here.

What else might I do to reclaim my childlike sense of wonder? I ordered 3 books for grandchildren, that is a book of thousands of why's. Maybe I need to keep one for myself and go through a few thousand. They should be arriving any day.

My grandchildren are being homeschooled by parents that are too busy to homeschool in my opinion. They have programs to follow on-line but in spending time with the granddaughter, I noticed very little time in school.

So, we went to the library, got a book for her to start reading, and I quizzed her on her multiplications, which her grandpa will do periodically. Then we painted picture frames. While I was painting mine, she painted hers and two other small 4x6 canvas. She is a budding artist, in my mind, not hers.

Oh, and we went outside and she took a spin around the park, running, jumping, climbing and swinging, while I sat in the sun to warm up. That was my playground fun! So, I was the teacher, and not reclaiming my childlike sense of wonder!

Hopefully, I will try out more childlike sense of wonder this week, that may take me into the next week and the next. I know with this card, that I will take with me, will help me to consider this more at my training, and reporting back next time, should ensure that I pay attention, and try some things out.
