Raising the Collective Consciousness
Raising the Collective Consciousness Since getting sober it has deepened my love of learning about the great mysteries of world, higher realms of consciousness, and how to manifest great things into my life. I’ve always been a seeker, I just assumed that eventually I would be so spiritually evolved that I wouldn’t want drugs and alcohol. Over a year later, a year of particularly challenging times to say the least, I am at peace and grateful for the journey that brought me here. About ten month ago I was still unfulfilled with life, sober, but unfulfilled. I knew I had it in me to figure out what it was that was going to bring me great joy and abundance in life, I just had to be patient and really go within. And it paid off. The amount of gratitude I have for my life today cannot be measure. It can only be lived and expressed through my day-to-day actions. I was gifted with the most deeply satisfying role in raising the collective consciousness that I had no idea existed until it found me. I am in the beginning of my journey as a Soul Realignment Practitioner. I read peoples Akashic Records for them. I use a pendulum and allow my subconscious to access the fifth dimension, an energetic database. I tell people who they are at soul level, what blocks and restrictions are present, and I clear those blocks and restrictions for them, temporarily, so that they can bring abundance into their lives and live in their divine nature. I help them become aware of what talents they were gifted with to figure out how they can live a truly well lived life. Now when I say temporarily, I mean that they have to make choices that serve their greatest potential. This work is transformative. I can tell them what is holding them back but they have to make the choices necessary to bring about change. I hope to be an illustrious example to my clients about what real transformation can look like and how euphoric it feels to truly transform with help from your Higher Self. I know with myself I romanticized the pain and suffering and without it I wasn’t quite sure who I was. Things that we let define us, we must transcend beyond that and go into the unknown.

Precarity Birthed Passion. Dedication To my mama who years ago loved, cried, and read. Today I write. Thank you. _ One of my earliest memories heavily revolves around an argument that my mother had with my father. As I got older, I came to the realization that that was one of the last disagreements they had. It was the very reason she raised me all alone. They had separated, and I too from the world; one where I thought I did not belong.

A Tale of Two Manhattans: The Puerto Rican White Girl from Spanish Harlem
On 108th street and Madison Avenue, they called me “White Girl.” Even though they all knew my name, to them, “Alyssa” didn’t seem quite fitting. I talked like I was “White” according to my friends from Lehman Village, Lakeview, and Villa Hermosa Apartments, all territories of Spanish Harlem which made up my ‘hood. because I enunciated my R’s, my S’s, my T’s, always said “like” as a filler, and, I don’t know, I guess I had an accent that sounded similar to 99.9% of the young white women that I went to school with. For years, I felt like I was trapped in between two worlds, neither in which I felt I truly belonged. At the private school that I attended (the name is not relevant at this time) for thirteen years of my life, I was teased for being a “loud Puerto Rican,” especially in the 6th grade, and was regularly asked if the name-brand bags, shoes, or jewelry that I sported at school was “real.” I was even teased by local private school boys who constantly reminded me I didn’t belong in their community, sending me AOL instant messages to my computer to remind me that I was “poor” and that I didn't belong at the school. (How ironic how some of the same students that teased me were on scholarships as well, huh? Talk about self-hate.) Even when I didn’t even try to be accepted, I was regularly reminded that I would never be so. If it wasn’t within my school community, it was by some young girl who lived in my building telling me that I think I am “better than them” for going to private school, or simply because of how I talk.

Live Your Own Creativity
I've always wondered if there were a job that would combine all my passions into one calling: art, writing, and yoga. The obvious one would be a picture book or a comic book about yoga. But both unfortunately and fortunately for me, I have never been one to pick the obvious route. And most of the time, the hobbies that I love to do often combine at most two out of three of my enjoyments.

For the Love of The Game
It’s Lima Time I missed the days when baseball had many characters that boggled the mind. There were colorful names like Blue Moon Odum, The Scooter, Vinegar Bend, and the Bird to name a few. Not only were their names colorful but many of their acts on and off the field were as colorful as some of the names.

Passion and Meaning
Who I was never seemed to stand out. Until I discovered acting. My passion. I am advancing myself mentally and physically, breaking away from the chains and becoming who I've always wanted to be. If you were to glance at my past, what you see would be much different from today. And hopefully the future.

Tales from the Dyslexic Side: Part 4
People who love books and read them quickly are said to devour them; this bestows books the quality of food, as though they are sustenance keeping the avid reader alive. For some of us, that’s just what they are. Books are more than just bound paper and printed lines, they are doorways to other worlds and experiences to live. I developed a passion for books which was never matched by my ability to consume them. I could taste the stories they held and I wanted to munch my way through them, but I couldn’t say I devoured them, that would give the idea of reading quickly. It was more like I nibbled my way through them, and if we’re holding to the analogy, probably dropped a fair few crumbs on the carpet while doing so.

Life's Way Of Telling Us
Have you ever found yourself in a situation where you have reached breaking point, as a result of circumstances just continuing to get worse and worse? Perhaps the relationship with your partner has become unhealthy and unhappy, void of love, trust, support, and intimacy? Maybe your job continues to become more and more stressful, demanding, and unsatisfying, to the point you have begun to feel overwhelmed, and even depressed? Maybe there is a certain individual in your life who is constantly harassing you, criticizing you, belittling you, bullying you, and dragging you down, which is taking its toll on you mentally and emotionally? Perhaps you are constantly struggling financially, to the point where you have become extremely anxious about being able to make your bill and mortgage/rent payments on time? Maybe you have even reached the point where you are so sick and tired of looking in the mirror, gazing upon yourself in shame at the excess weight you carry, courtesy of a poor routine you have developed in overindulging in junk food, combined with a continual failure to exercise? These examples, and many other circumstances, we commonly find ourselves in, and we identify pretty early on in the picture, that things are simply not right, and definitely not how we desire. Sadly, what is also common, is that we fail to take action in fixing them when we do identify them. Instead, we just let them slide, hoping that these circumstances will eventually just sort themselves out. Not surprisingly, they don't, not until action of sorts is taken anyway. By the time we reach breaking point, we are so distressed, so unhappy, so mentally exhausted, and even so depressed, that we have taken our life into a deep, dark trough!
