How to heal fully and properly.
it's lonely at the top
I never imagined my triumph would turn into my tragedy. I thought I was winning at life. My new apartment overlooked the city skyline, and I could almost taste the champagne as I accepted my third promotion in five years. My phone lit up constantly with messages of congratulations and plans for celebratory nights out. “We always knew you'd make it,” my best friend Marcus toasted me under the fireworks on our rooftop. That night, the city lights glittered with promise under my feet.

The Clever Goat and the Hungry Wolf
On the banks of a beautiful and lush valley, there lived a small goat. Its soft white hair and innocent eyes attracted everyone who saw it. It was very simple, kind-hearted and harmless. Its daily routine was to leave its small house early in the morning with the first rays of the sun, eat green grass and quench its thirst with the clear water of the river.

Don't Confuse Schooling With Education
That one line. Twelve words in the first sentence, and yet it carries enough weight to make you stop, sit back, and rethink everything you were told about success growing up. Elon Musk — the man behind Tesla, SpaceX, and arguably one of the most disruptive minds of the 21st century — wasn't bragging when he said this. He was drawing a line. A very important line that most people spend their entire lives never noticing.

My Decision To Be Gorgeous. Runner-Up in Small Win Challenge. Top Story - April 2026.
One day I decided I was hot and became so. I am not conventionally attractive by today’s Western standards. I am highly unlikely to be on a reality dating show - because of my personality, and then on top of that my looks. I am a short “middle-thick” sometimes-bloated brown Latina with curly hair that I still have to figure out on non-wash days, and skin I just figured out how to keep mostly-free of acne. I am on the eve of turning 30, or the age where I can hardily be a valid sugar-baby contender. I have a couple of grey hairs coming in and am sincerely looking forward to more. (My mother likes to say that it is a privilege to grow old because not everyone gets to do so.) I don’t shave the hair on my arms. I say no when several eyebrow-threading ladies have offered to start with my upper lip first. I won’t even tell you about the waxers I don’t go to.

Mango Season. Runner-Up in Small Win Challenge. Top Story - April 2026.
The tree was here long before us. It was just a tree, it is almost jarring to say it out loud, in our garden. Neither of us had ever really had a garden. A balcony – a few wonky herbs and some sunflowers between us. But this tree was slightly lopsided with oversized witches’ hands for leaves. Nestled somewhere between the galangal and the lime, it was unassuming enough not to really register as anything of significance. Overshadowed by the raining tree, it had nothing to prove. For weeks, maybe months, we didn’t think about it at all. It was just part of the backdrop. Part of this new place we had yet to know.

More Than A Whopper
The man woke up under the bridge, he was sleeping with no shirt, and he noticed his backpack was gone, vanished. It might not have been a big deal, under ordinary circumstances, but that backpack contained all the man's earthly possessions.

The Bears of Prishtina
There’s a bear sanctuary in Prishtina, Kosovo. The vast 16-hectare property is spacious and natural. There are pools for the bears to swim in, forests of lush trees for them to disappear into, grass for them to roll around in, leaves, pinecones, and everything a bear could want. Winding through the park, there is a walking path for visitors, and surrounding the path there is a chain-link fence to keep bears and humans separate.
