The Clever Goat and the Hungry Wolf
A Small Goat, A Big Danger: A Story of Courage

On the banks of a beautiful and lush valley, there lived a small goat. Its soft white hair and innocent eyes attracted everyone who saw it. It was very simple, kind-hearted and harmless. Its daily routine was to leave its small house early in the morning with the first rays of the sun, eat green grass and quench its thirst with the clear water of the river.
There was also a dense forest near this valley, where various animals lived. Among them was a dangerous, cunning and hungry wolf. He had been looking for prey for many days, but he could not find any suitable prey. Hunger and weakness made him restless and angry.
One day, when the goat was drinking water peacefully on the banks of the river, the wolf was watching him carefully from behind the trees in the distance. His eyes sparkled and he thought to himself,
“Today, fate has been on my side, this goat will be my best prey!”
But the wolf knew that if he attacked directly, the goat would make a noise, which might attract other animals or the shepherd. So he decided to play a trick.
He slowly came towards the upper part of the stream and angrily addressed the goat,
“Oh goat! You are polluting my drinking water, you will be punished for it!”
The goat looked up in surprise and replied very politely,
“Sir, you are standing above me and the water flows downwards, how can I pollute your water?”
The wolf was silent for a few moments, because the goat was absolutely right. But he was helpless in the face of his stubbornness and hunger. He immediately made another excuse,
“If not you, then one of your relatives badmouthed me last year!”
The goat said softly,
“I am still very young, and no one in my family has ever been here. You are making a mistake.”
The wolf no longer had any strong arguments, but his intentions were already bad. He bared his teeth in anger and said,
“You are making excuses! You must be at fault, and I will not let you go!”
The goat now understood that the wolf was making false accusations just to harm him. His heart began to beat with fear, but he did not give up. He thought that if he panicked, he would not be able to save his life.
He said to the wolf very calmly,
“If you want to eat me, please give me a chance to say one last prayer, so that I can ask for forgiveness from my Lord.”
The wolf, who considered himself very wise, laughed and said,
“Okay, say your prayer, but hurry!”
The goat closed his eyes and suddenly started making loud noises. His voice echoed throughout the area. He was calling out as if he was asking for help.
By chance, a shepherd was nearby with his flock and loyal dogs. As soon as he heard the goat's cry, he sensed danger. He immediately ran with his dogs in the direction from which the sound was coming.
The dogs started barking loudly, and the wolf was frightened when he heard their cry. He looked around and immediately realized that if he stopped, he would be caught. To save his life, he immediately ran away from there and disappeared into the dense forest.
A few moments later, the shepherd arrived there. He saw the goat in a frightened state and patted it affectionately. The goat breathed a sigh of relief and thanked God in his heart that he had escaped a great danger.
The shepherd took the goat with him and took it to a safe place. After that day, the goat learned that not everyone in the world is truthful and sincere. There are some people who resort to lies and deceit for their own benefit.
The wolf was also afraid for many days after that day and did not dare to come near the area.
*Lesson:*
This story teaches us that cruel and cunning people always make false excuses to hide their evil intentions. But if a person works with intelligence, patience and courage, he can get out of difficult situations. At the same time, it is also important that we always be careful and do not blindly trust everyone.
