How people perceive and think about the success? Most people consider success as having a great career, wealth, and respect from peers. But, don’t overlook goals that will support a happier life. Prioritizing relationships, physical health, safety, contributing to others, and creative expression have been shown to improve feelings of happiness.
However, don’t confuse the feeling of happiness with success. You could be quite happy eating Cheetos in your parents’ basement while you watch TV. That doesn’t make you a success. As Eleanor Roosevelt said, “Happiness is not a goal…it’s a by-product of a life well-lived.”
Success in life means attaining your vision of a good life. It means achieving specific goals that result in the future you have planned for yourself. Success in life is defined by the individual. Your vision of success looks different than someone else’s. Following are some key tips to set your goals for success and happiness in the life.
People may spend their whole lives climbing the ladder of success only to find, once they reach the top, that the ladder is leaning against the wrong wall.” - Thomas Merton
Set boundaries
Sure, set boundaries, says a person who regularly worked extended hours. That's what playing to your strengths and following your passion can do to you. I also didn't know that limits were your friend. I now have a simple framework for setting boundaries and invest in my life's hot spots: mind, body, emotions, career, finances, relationships, and fun.
Model best
If you want to be great at something, learn from the best then you should find the best of the best. When someone studied martial arts, he/she should study Bill Superfoot Wallace. The people learn from those who were inspire and show the way. I learn from everyone around me. I consider their super skills and they are usually more than happy to share what they know.
Be the best
You can't always be the best, but you can always be the BEST. You can't ask for yourself for more than that. Because yourself is always modeled from the best, one should always feel like I was missing a brand. I think the key to giving your best is knowing where you have the best and playing to your strengths. The thing that always keeps me here is that I remember that giving up is easy.
Life is not static
I thought like a static lake instead of a flowing river. Things flow in and things flow out. People are pouring in and people are leaving. I am regularly surprised how people have made something more of themselves or how they let themselves go. It is also a reminder to find a sustainable path in life. The seasons change and everything has its cycles. It is the tides, along with the waxing and waning.
Version Your perfection
When you're trying to be the best you can be and modeling from perfection, it can be hard to set the right bar in the moment. There's never enough time, and you can never be too good. Focus on "good enough for now" and improve with each of your work, task and relationship. Gradually improving over time is better than never being good enough or never being prepared.
Structure your success
The most effective people I know are preparing for success. They have personal patterns of success for thinking, feeling, and doing. They have checklists, mantras, and metaphors that remind them of what works and throw away what doesn't. This helps me deal with obstacles and always find a way forward. I learned strategies for coping with some of life's worst-case scenarios.
