Someone Tried To Steal My Work (Again)

Why I'm Not Worried And What I Am Taking Away From It

Written by a human, for humans, always.

I have written quite a few articles over the years.

When I publish this article...

It will be the 1,366th article written and published in 1,366 days.

Basically...

I write, edit, and publish articles daily.

But here's the thing...

Just yesterday I discovered...

Someone has been stealing my work.

Is it the first time?

No.

Will it be the last time?

No.

When you publish work online...

It is available online.

Anyone with a computer can read it.

Anyone who lacks a moral compass can copy and paste it.

If they are smart...

They will attempt to hide their misdeeds by changing things like the structure or wording...

If they are stupid...

Like the most recent individual I discovered stealing my work...

They copy, paste, and publish.

For some people...

This is one of their greatest fears...

That someone will come along and try to steal credit for their work.

And...

I understand the fear because there is every possibility that people could try to steal your work.

It happens.

It has happened to me multiple times.

There are some people who lack morals.

There are some people who are desperate.

There are some parts of the world where stealing is a norm.

There are some governments and companies that will do it and say it is for the "greater good".

People may try to steal your work.

Now...

You can either be afraid of it happening...

Or...

You can realize that there is nothing to be worried about...

And take something incredible away from it.

If people try to steal your work...

It means that it is actually valuable.

People only steal things that are valuable...

Which means if someone believes that what you created was worth trying to steal...

You have created something valuable.

Good job!

There is more to it, though.

For instance...

In stealing your work...

What they are doing...

Is saying that "you" are the leader, or best of, whatever you are creating.

This is something that comes out of Category Design Economics.

Let me give you a different example...

There is a company called WHOOP, which is a health, wellness, and performance wearable...

It tracks your health 24/7 to help you improve performance, sleep, and more.

It is a company that I absolutely love, recommend, and I'm an affiliate for.

I am a Diamond Level user, in the Top 0.2% of runners (Runner's High Achievement) and recovery experts (Green Monster Achievement).

It is an incredibly helpful tool in my semi-professional athletic career outside of my Executive Sageship work.

If you want to perform at a higher level, you should definitely check them out through my affiliate link here: join.whoop.com/Leader

But something happened to WHOOP a few years ago...

They had been in discussions with another very well-known company...

Amazon...

To potentially acquire the WHOOP company.

Things appeared to be going well...

Until...

Amazon cut off communications...

Then...

Released their "own" wearable...

Called the "Amazon Halo".

It looked "exactly" like a WHOOP band.

Amazon stole the concept.

Now...

You might think that Amazon, with its market value and resources, would dominate the much smaller WHOOP company.

But...

That is not what happened at all.

Instead...

WHOOP sales became even better...

And Amazon ended up shutting down their Halo devices completely.

What happened?

Amazon's attempt to "steal" the market failed...

Instead...

Caused people to see the WHOOP band as more valuable.

In Category Design Economics...

The company that becomes known for the market...

Becomes the Category King/Queen of that market...

Getting a significant portion of the market...

And anyone who attempts to copy the leader...

Only demonstrates that the leader of the category had the idea right...

Cementing the leader as the Category King/Queen even further.

Anyone who tries to copy the leader...

Ends up fighting with other copycats over a significantly smaller share of the market...

Or perishes.

Stealing ideas...

Ends up backfiring...

And it makes the person whose ideas were stolen appear even better.

That is the reality that plays out.

But...

There is another reason this happens.

People who steal ideas...

Frequently do not deeply understand the ideas.

They "see" that whoever they steal from has something valuable...

But because they are not obsessed with the deep intricacies of what they are stealing...

They fail to actually understand what it is they are stealing.

They do not fully get what the value actually is...

And because of that...

They are unable to utilize what they steal effectively.

So...

When other people see that the idea is valuable...

But the person stealing it clearly does not understand what they have stolen...

The other people turn to where the ideas originally came from.

I know this because I have watched it happen.

People have tried to steal my ideas...

And the result...

Is that my work on Executive Sageship has launched me into places that I never imagined.

I have won and been nominated for over 100 awards...

Including...

Being a multi-year recipient of the Forttuna Executive Coaching Leader of the Year (the Golden Globes of Business)...

A Hall of Fame Leadership Coach...

And even recognized as a "Top Doctor for Excellence in Medicine".

(Note: I am not a Medical Doctor, do not practice medicine, do not diagnose, do not prescribe, and do not have patients. I am a Board-Certified Functional Medicine and Alternative Medicine Practitioner, researching, working with, and teaching clients about health through scientifically backed modalities to reach their potential, as a "Doctor" in the traditional and original sense, from the word "Docere" or "Teacher". Even so, my work is recognized alongside the work of Medical Doctors.)

My work has helped me...

Become a Top Creator on multiple platforms...

Be featured on magazine covers...

Appear on a billboard in Times Square, New York...

Receive two Honorary Doctorates in Advanced Studies in Psychology and Humane Letters (in addition to my earned Doctor of Functional Medicine, Doctor of Natural Medicine, and Doctor of Holistic Medicine)...

Appointed Commander of The Most Excellent Order of International Experts in the field of Psychophysiological Research...

Become a United Nations Representative as a consultant on Leadership, Sageship, and Psychophysiology...

And soon will take me even further (there's a secret project I am legally not allowed to discuss publicly... yet).

All of these things have happened...

Despite people trying to steal my work.

What most people do not realize...

Is that they can try to steal my work...

But they would never succeed...

Because what I write about...

Is only a fraction of what I know and understand.

What I write about...

Only scratches the surface...

Because when you write articles...

It has to be able to speak to a large number of individuals at different stages of life, health, and careers.

It is not possible to get into highly specific examples, complex interactions, or account for every possibility that can occur in life.

So what I know...

And what I can help people with...

Is vastly more than what I can write about...

And...

I have written a lot.

So people can try to steal my work...

But they end up failing to reproduce what I help clients with...

Because what they understand about my work...

Is barely scratching the surface of what they need to have deeply ingrained in themselves to actually help people at high levels.

They are physically unable to copy what I do...

Because they have not dedicated themselves to the level that is required to actually understand what I understand.

They can attempt to steal my work...

And it is not a problem...

Because they are simply revealing that my work is valuable...

Cementing the category of Executive Sageship more firmly...

While being unable to actually do what I do...

Allowing me to flourish further.

This is what you need to take away...

People will try to steal your work...

As long as you have something worth stealing.

But...

You really should not care that much if they do...

As long as...

You continue to cultivate yourself into a Sage of what you do...

And...

You continue to develop your work further and further.

If you become so good that it requires serious effort, knowledge, and experience to do what you do...

And you continue to put more and more valuable work out into the world...

People will try to steal your work...

But it will not matter...

Because every time they do it...

They are only cementing that what you do is valuable...

And as you continue to cultivate yourself further...

And put more work out into the world...

It just highlights that you are the best person to follow...

And eventually the copycats will fail...

Because they just cannot do what you do...

And eventually they will either realize it and discover it is not profitable for them...

As Amazon realized...

Or they will get caught and held accountable...

As has occurred with those who have tried to copy my work.

At the end of it all...

There is nothing to worry about.
