Reasons I Celebrate My Birthday Every Year
Here are reasons birthdays should be celebrated.
My birthdays are important and meaningful to me, and I look forward to them every year. It is a time to reflect on my past, plan for my future, and do things that bring me joy.
One thing that all people have in common is that they have a birthday once a year. For that once-a-year occasion, there are reasons I celebrate my birthdays.
When I was a child, I thought of birthdays as a good reason to have cake and ice cream. As I grew older, I began to celebrate my birthdays for more profound reasons.
1. My Birth Was My Beginning
My birth was the beginning of my life. Every time I have a birthday, it is an indication that I am still alive to enjoy my existence. It is the time that I acknowledge the anniversary of my birth.
My birthday is a momentous occasion to be commemorated, just as a nation commemorates its birth or as an organization celebrates its founding. My birthday is much more than an occasion to receive gifts. It is a good reason to celebrate and reflect on my existence.
2. Celebrating Is My Expression of Thanks
Celebrating my birthday is a time to be thankful for my life. It is a great time to thank God for my past, my present, and my future. It is a time when my past intersects with my present and my future.
3. A Chance To Acknowledge A New Year
When I celebrate a birthday, I am acknowledging a new year. No matter what kind of family I was born into or what my past looked like, I welcome every new year with great expectations. Celebrating my birthday is my way of acknowledging that I am ready for new adventures.
4. My Birthday Is A Transition
My birthday is not only a time to think about my birth in the past, but it is also a time to think about my transition in the future. No matter how things were in previous years, I think about how they can be much better in the years to come.
My birthday is a transition from what was to what is to be. My birthday is an opportunity to reset my outlook on my life.
5. An Opportunity To Feel Loved
Birthday celebrations are great ways for my family and friends to bond with me on my special day. Birthday gifts are appreciated, but my wish is worth more than all the presents in the world. I wish for love and belonging.
6. All My Birthdays Are Milestones
Celebrating my birthday doesn't mean that I have to have a big party every year. It doesn't mean that I have to wait for a milestone birthday (40, 60, 80, 100) because every birthday is a special time for me.
7. A Time Of Self-Reflections
A birthday is the appropriate time for me to reflect on the present (what is), on the past (what was), and on the future (what is to be). It is a time to think about what I am doing, what I have done, and what I need to do in future years. In other words, I take stock of my life on my birthdays.
8. A Time of Remembrance
On my birthdays, I remember my successes and my failures. It is a time to continue doing what works and to evaluate and make changes to things that did not work before moving on to another year.
9. A Time of Reminders
My birthday reminds me to prioritize the things that matter, to acknowledge my mistakes, and identify areas where I can improve. It is a chance to ask myself what I want out of life and how I can achieve it. My birthday is a reminder that I have another year to achieve my goals, pursue my dreams, and live my best life.
10. A Time to Look Within
My birthday is an ideal time to look inward and to get in touch with my thoughts, feelings, and experiences. By taking some time to review the past year, I can go forward with clarity into a new year.
11. A Time to Take Stock of My Life
I use every birthday to take stock of my life. I evaluate my personal growth, my relationships, and other facets of my life. Then I decide what measures are going with me into a new year.
12. It Could Be My Last Birthday
I celebrate every birthday because it could be my last one on this earth. And there are no birthdays in heaven. Therefore, I celebrate with thanksgiving that I am still alive.
I have found it good for me to celebrate my birthday every year because it could be my last. It is one more opportunity to continue my legacy because the next year is not promised to me.
