New Year to Be Who You Really Want to Be

We are leaving 2017 in the past. Let's look at all the things you want to do in the next 365 days of your life

First let me start by saying Happy New Year! It's been one hell of a year for a lot of us and we've made it through. Barely, but we've made it right? We don't want to get into 2018 with a list of regrets from things that we did or didn't do in the past 365 days. We all had our issues with stuff this year. Different debates and changes that we had no control over. Some of us have dealt with death over and over again this year. I know that I don't want to roll into another year with the same struggles of these past moments in life.

Now let me be one of the first to say, all of the issues that we had this year have made some of us stronger. Were they here to try to break our spirits or teach us a lesson? Which one was it for you? Did you come out a stronger person or did you fall victim to the issues of every day life? I know for me one of the hardest things to get over and just deal with was the Presidential Election. It still worries me what all this man is going to lead America into. I have kids. I don't want my children going into war over some clowns stupid and irrational decisions. It's something that a lot of Americans live in constant fear of daily.

To be honest, you can't wait until the last night of the year to say mentally, you are ready for something new and a fresh start of life. That is like sitting around making a new year resolution of dropping weight and then you are still eating and making unhealthy choices. It's not something you can just walk into and say it as a change overnight. Reinventing yourself takes time. It takes hard work and dedication. I've never watched someone decide to be brand new overnight and wake up with a full plan. It's just not possible at all.

So with that being said, make a list now of what you goals are for the next 6 months. Work on those goals. Figure out what it is that you need to change. These can be things like a lifestyle change, figuring out your work-life balance or anything like that. Check out some ideas on websites like Pinterest. Join a few discussion groups if you have to. Anything that will give you that support system that you will need to pull through another year. For anyone that didn't feel like they would be the same if they asked for help, don't feel that way! Open your mouth and say what it is you need. If there can be hundreds of gofund me accounts created, there can be one created in every community for someone in need.

This year, don't be afraid to take that trip, ask that someone out or even try that restaurant that's in your area. This is another year where you shouldn't let things hold you back from doing something that you have thought about diving into for months on end. Apply for that job! Hell if Trump can become President, I see no reason why you need a Bachelors degree to be an Admin Assistant! All jokes aside though, live the best year of your life every year. Continue to grow and learn something that you find interest in. Continue to meet new people and see how well everything fits. Just like a puzzle piece that you've been missing for all this time. Again, from my family to yours, Happy New Year!
