Home is a place within you
Is “home” a place or a feeling? That is something I’ve begun asking myself lately. Two continents, six cities, and ten years after I first left my home country, I’m only beginning to find comfort in discomfort. Visa after visa, I’m forgetting what a Sunday lunch ritual with family feels like and learning to let go of material possessions that exceed my 20kg luggage limit.

My Wonder Women
What women drives me? I sit and think about this issue, but there's none that comes to mind but her. She is a dressed-up superwoman. When the world took her down straight, she recalled being herself, not letting them describe her. She only made herself to be who she needed to be and she understood that. Others will look and chuckle at her stumbling speech as she talked because they thought it was going to break her, but she refuses to accept it as a definition but rather lets it go because it is she who has realized that nothing will rescue her but herself from her fear.

We'll Get Through This, Together
Week 3 of living this quarantined life and even this introvert is starting to get stir crazy. It's one thing to choose social distancing and come and go whenever the mood strikes me but a state order to stay inside with a four-year-old, an elderly dog, and your stubborn parents, your boundaries, love, and sanity are tested to the max. Let's not forget the reason this is all happening; you've lived long enough to experience the first global pandemic in a hundred years. Congratulations! The world is ending, at least it can feel like it at times, and that's okay, things are pretty scary right now.

Live Intentionally
Dear beautiful people? Have you ever started something that changed your life so much, that you never stopped? Well, I'm here to tell you that never have I ever appreciated living as much as I have now. I credit my love of LIFE to all the new intentions that I have adopted to guide my way of life. Just because I love life, does not mean my life is perfect. Reality check: your life and my life will never be perfect. However, we all have a journey to live through; and how we choose to live our life will determine whether are lives were well lived or squandered.

Where Does the Present Live? Inside a Grateful Heart
As a facilitator, for workshops on creativity, I like to take the participants to the place where soul and imagination reside by giving them ideas of how to tap into their most creative selves. I often start the class out with the following exercise;

Eye of the Storm
Everyday that we wake up we face ourselves, and it is in that facing that we make a choice. The choice is either to rise defiant of the mortal desire to fade away, or to allow the flesh to drag us down into the comfortable mire of self-loathing. Whichever you choose is of course up to you; but the choice will only temporarily affect you today, but will affect you eternally, tomorrow.

Quarantine Vibes; How to stay productive during this unconventional zombie apocalypse (also know as quarantine by corona)
It's safe to say that it's been hard staying busy and keeping ourselves motivated during this quarantine. Lying around all day, snacking, binge watching shows on Netflix; these are the things that most of us have probably been spending out time doing. Though they keep us entertained temporarily, this enjoyment only lasts so long before boredom and craziness kick in. At the same time, after cleaning your entire house, reorganizing your entire closet and eating everything out of your fridge, what's there left to do? Plenty of videos have been posted on YouTube about this topic but not many blog posts have been written about this topic exactly. How can you remain productive whilst just relaxing and having a good time this quarantine season? Here are a few things that you can do.

Things I've Learned After Almost a Month of Social Distancing and Isolation. Top Story - April 2020.
Social distancing and isolation, right? Well, its no big deal for us introverts. So, I pity the extroverts that couldn't endure to stay at home (no hate intended. I respect you.) Yes, you read that right, I am an introvert, and I'm blessed by being one. I see it as a gift.

She inspires change
I have heard that the people in your life make you who you are or inspire you to become better. Yet, many miss that circumstances and how things are dealt to you in your life, also make you or me into who we are today. So it is safe to say you are able to inspire yourself or be your own inspiration because we do surprise ourselves with the things we are doing or changing everyday. Personally, I could say I had to make things happen for myself being that I was an only child and my life growing up was not the greatest. However, it does seems somewhat self-absorbed, but it is not the case. Personally, I remember growing up and not really knowing my families true history or background for that matter besides the lifestyle of trying to survive. Like Jhene Aiko said in the song Beautiful Ruin, my mother was a gypsy and my daddy was most definitely a rolling stone. I am my mother's only child, so it was a single parent home, not male figure in my life to truly show or provide an image of what it is like to have a real man in my life. Of course, raised without a father and no guidance most of the women in my family had to figure life out the best way they knew how, and it was not built on love, but more so on survival. I, too, had learned the behavior, and learned how to make it out of any bad situation I had faced in my life, what we recognize as a strong woman.

Quarantine Vibes; Positive Message for all of those that feel discouraged
This quarantine was something beyond anyone’s imagination. Everything seemed to be going so right since the start of this year; we were all making plans for the summer, accomplishing our new year’s resolutions, being productive at school and at work. Then, out of nowhere, all of these are ripped out from our grasps. We can no longer leave our houses, we can't see any of our friends. It becomes a challenge to simply get some work done or exercise after a long days’ worth of doing nothing. Those sticky notes with all our play dates, family getaways and road trips are being peeled one by one off of our calendars. To make matters worse, boredom, procrastination, laziness - the things that we try to avoid in our lives each and every single waking moment - are becoming harder and harder to avoid. What is there left to do other then watch Netflix and munch away at everything in the pantry? What's the point of doing our work if we can just stay in bed instead scrolling through Instagram, laughing at TikToks or making fake tinder accounts to catfish some poor souls? Never in our right minds had we thought that our lives would come to this.

My Everyday Hero
What makes someone a Hero? A few months ago, your answer to this question may have been different, but today, it is wonderfully recognized that some of our most heroic of Heroes are truly the members of the working class. The farmers and migrant workers, the grocery store employees. The post office officials and the people who deliver out mail. The hospital staffs including doctors, nurses, physician assistants, the amazing custodial personnel and the many others required to run the many dimensions of a hospital. The people who make the gears and wheels of society cycle are finally being recognized. And.. my wish is that this appreciation for them does not dissolve when the page has turned and we are on the other side of this pandemic.
