Changing Your Thinking
It’s important to be mindful of your thinking, to what exactly it is that voice in your head is saying, and how it affects what comes out of your mouth when you speak and interact with others. For example, instead of apologizing for everything, practice gratitude. Rather than “I’m sorry I was late,” try “Thank you for waiting for me;” and turn “I’m sorry for being so sensitive” into “I appreciate how accepting of me you are;” “I’m sorry I always mess up” can become “Thank you for being patient when I make a mistake;” and “I’m sorry for talking so much” can be “thank you for listening to me.” Even subtle changes can go a long way over time in fine tuning your thinking in a positive direction.

Passion Not Perfection
I'll take a passionate person over a perfect person every single day of the week and twice on Sunday's. What do I mean by perfect? I mean someone who either thinks they've made it or is comfortable with the success they've achieved thus far. The person who thinks they have all of the answers and isn't open to any sort of constructive criticism or help. You know the types of people I'm talking about.

Self-discovery
Life can get very complicated if you are not responsible for your actions. The most important thing of all are the choices we make. The choices we make are the actions of our true intentions. Consequences are the result of our choices, good or bad. istakes are made but the difference of whether we overcome our assigned obstacles in life is whether or not we learn and grow from them. Growth is the ultimate outcome that we must strive for to become the best version of our true selves.

Do We Learn From the Past?
"Life can only be understood backward, but it must be lived forwards." Throughout your life, your past has been guiding to avoid certain situations and embrace others. It is so much you have accomplished all because of the positive and negative experiences you have had. It can safely be said that all that you have experienced in the past has molded you to who you are today and who you will become in the future.

Art Can Save Us All
"Art has the power to render sorrow beautiful, make loneliness a shared experience, and transform despair into hope. Only art can take the holler of a returning soldier and turn it into a shared expression, a deep collective experience. Music, like all art, gives pain and our most wrenching emotions voice, language and form, so it can be recognized and shared. The magic of all art is the ability to both capture our pain, and deliver us from it at the same time."

The One Question to Ask When Setting Goals
It's far too easy to set goals—my journals are packed full of them—and far too difficult to achieve them. Despite making my goals SMART (specific, measurable, achievable, realistic and timely), I often end up looking back at my old journal entries and feeling disheartened at the lack of progress I've made.

Facing My Fears
Thanks for sharing your story with us Ayrica. So, let’s start at the beginning and we can move on from there. My career started because of what I thought was the worst thing that could happen to a person…. I WAS FIRED!!! Well, I was laid off. But you get the idea. I started my career in the accounting industry by working for one of the biggest accounting software in the world, Intuit. I found my love for numbers, community, small business, and the everyday individual by working for this company. I transitioned into the Business Management and Entertainment industry by working for numerous CPA firms and grew my passion for Business Management. As the company declined financially, they started their layoffs using the method of “the last one hired, first one fired.” I had never been “fired” before, nor have I ever been unemployed.

Book review: The richest man in Babylon, by George Samuel Clason
Did Babylon exist? Of course, it did, and it was the richest and most prosperous city that has ever been on Earth. At least, this is what ancient historians say in their books, in which they describe the riches, advanced civilization, and highly-organized economic life of its citizens. The remaining monuments of this emblematic city of antiquity serve as evidence of its glorious past.
