3 ways to get to know yourself better
I remember when the coronavirus pandemic had first started imposing new restrictions into law. Boredom and frustration began to consume the American people. People were finding themselves with all this empty time in their hands, and they had no idea what to do with it! When the public was notified that these restrictions may not be temporary, everyone was saying things like, "this is my opportunity to clean my house!" or "I can now finally catch up on my emails" or even "this is my chance to sleep until noon."

Homeless and Beyond
In 2010, I lost my job and my apartment. Before, when life went wrong, my family helped out, this time however I was on my own at forty-nine years old. So, I packed my car and drove to a women’s shelter. There, I was given a bed and three meals-a-day. With no rent or utilities to pay, no food or clothes to buy, it quickly became a hard habit to break called Complacency… when doing nothing all day is okay and the desire to work fades! The first week I stayed close to the shelter, mostly from shock and the uncertainty of my situation. Never before had I felt truly alone. Never before had I felt unwanted or unloved. Never before had I felt so unprotected. Off and on for the next eight years, I was homeless, staying on a person’s couch for a time was still considered homeless because it wasn’t permanent.

Leaning into Uncertainty
I remember being about 12 or 12.5 years of age (because the distinction was necessary to distinguish full teenager status) when I realized that mental health was something that I wanted to do, for lack of better terms. At that age, I did not know the official name for it; however, I did know that I wanted to help people. I remember waking up and diving into shows like Dr. Phil, Maury, The Doctors, and then reading magazines like GQ and Psychology Today. You could say that 12-year-old, excuse me, 12.5-year-old me was profound and searching for any deeper meaning.

6 Considerations for New Years Resolutions
The new year is coming up so its that time where most people will now reflect on this past year. What was positive, negative, what would you have done differently if you could do it again, what do you need to keep doing, and what are you going to start next year to make 2021 better than 2020. The year 2020 has created many trials and tribulations from the coronavirus pandemic, the multiple lockdowns, riots, protests, Brexit, and those are just the topics that have had a universal effect. I am sure everyone who reads this will have had their challenges this year on top of all of that. Given all of the external environment factors which made the year 2020 so tricky, theoretically, making 2021 a better year should be the easiest thing in the world. However, some may find there is a harsh reality. There have been many changes that have come about this year and it is essential to realise and be aware of how the changes you have experienced this year have affected your physical and mental health. Restricted socialising, vices like the gyms, shops, bars, and clubs, being closed, and not being able to see family members, may all of impacted your wellbeing, both physically and psychologically. As this year comes to a close, and people are being vaccinated, it is vital to have an idea of how you want the next year to go and how you will make it happen for yourself. Even if there are still some tight restrictions in the new year we need to be able to work around them and set targets for ourselves to keep pushing forwards. This is something people do every year and we call it our “New Years Resolutions”. The problem is that even in easier years, by comparison, in most cases, they are never stuck to. A reason for this is that the resolutions people may have set for themselves may not have been thought through enough for them to be actionable and capable to the individual. Another reason is that they may have just not made the target a priority and it just faded away over time due to not having someone to keep them accountable and on target. This is why in this post, I will talk through 6 things to do when making resolutions for the new year.

5 Lessons I Learned while Studying Rocket Science
1. Plan the future but live in the present I was eighteen, with important decisions ahead of me. I got a very good grade in my university entrance exam so I was able to choose whatever I wanted. I should have been extremely happy; any career I wanted to pursue I would be able to. But I was not happy, neither sad. I was confused. I didn't have a clue about what the hell I wanted from life.
