My Cozy Corner
Springtime is my favorite time of year. Its new beginnings, fresh starts, sunshine, love, and smiles. Birds gather to share their goals for the next few months while teaching their young the skills they need to move out. The air is cool, and the sun’s heat peaks at a mere 75°. You can hear the sound of wind chimes playing music through the trees.

The Power Of Catharsis: Release
Have you ever held in something you wanted to release & express? And have you ever done so for a long time? Let me rephrase this: have you ever known someone who is a “bottler” and usually not capable of easily saying what’s on their mind?

I'm not perfect and that's chill
Thanks for checking out my article, if you enjoyed this please drop a like! "Content - in state of peaceful happiness" Between Instagram and constant passive comments of relatives it can be easy to feel like you're behind the curve somehow. Like you dropped the imaginary ball and every one else is blowing by while you struggle to find your place in the world. Maybe you feel like your job is not enough or maybe you see that a Facebook friend just paid off their student loans early. So, naturally you'll start grinding and stressing to find new ways to keep up with the new status quo.

Being Grateful in Uncertain Times
So all of us have survived the change in the year to 2021, the year we all hoped would come quickly. Why? So that we can leave Covid-19, political unrest, and solitary living behind us. So here we are in a new year and what has changed?

2020 — Reading for me
Like everyone my 2020 was, let’s just say different. One of the things that did not change was my consumption of books. Today is December 22, 2020 as I write this and I just met my ‘Goodreads’ goal of 70 books today. I will add one to that before the year is over.

NEW YEAR MOTIVATION
Motivation is directly linked to self-esteem. When we have belief and confidence in ourselves coupled with clearly identified goals, we’re more likely to propel forwards. If we have goals set but diminished faith in our own ability to achieve, we are less likely to push onwards. In fact, if we have derogatory self-talk that emphasises not being good enough, worthy enough, capable enough and so on, we’re unlikely to begin any work at all. ‘What’s the point?’ we’ll reflect.

From Screens To Screening
Waking “DOWN” Snoozing the alarm clock for 5 minutes is a daily ritual, and by pressing that snooze button, you take your first step towards “medical screening.” Doesn’t this custom show the weakness of your commitments? Every night we promise ourselves to wake up at 6 AM, but after a long unproductive activity that lasts till 2 PM, we push our commitment by 3 hours. I did this almost every day in 2020. How does this connect to our health?

Life with Asperger's
I was diagnosed with Asperger's when I was in my first year of school. Despite that my mum had a feeling that I was on the spectrum I was unable to get a diagnosis until I started school. The doctors explained to us that due to the way that my brain had developed it would surely give me problems in the future. we were told that my handwriting would never improve and that I should start typing on a computer. we were also told to see multiple speech therapists and pediatricians. I was seeing a speech therapist and a pediatrician every 6 months but every time we would be sent to see someone else so we were having to tell the same story over and over again. it felt like we were getting nowhere and we still didn't have answers on how I was meant to improve so I would be better prepared for when I was to start my own life.

Taking my life back! Pt.1
This is my story...it is a story about being broken, feeling lost, and coming out stronger than I ever thought I would be. Unlike most people with eczema, I did not develop it until I was an adult and expecting my third child. As soon as I found out I was pregnant my body began to go through aome unfamiliar changes. In my previous pregnancies I had experienced the nausea, cravings, and of course put on some weight, but this time was different. My skin became very sensitive and extremely dry. For years I had worked in the beauty industry, and so as you can imagine, the physical appearance of a person was very important. I tried all kinds of creams, lotions, oils, and home remedies to try and "fix" what was happening to my skin, primarily my face. Nothing seemed to work, on the contrary I always ended up looking much worse. I brought my concerns to my doctor, but he said it was most likely just my hormones. I knew each pregnancy could be different so I took his word for it. As the pregnancy went along my upper lip became really red and inflammed. It looked as if I had my upper lip waxed and burned. No amount of makeup could mask it. It was peeling, dry, and many times it would get these tiny cuts. I kept telling my doctor, but still there was very little to be done because of the pregnancy. I started to become vwry self conscious. I was tired of meeting with colleagues and clients, and having them point out how bad my face looked. There was nothing I could do. I began calling off work, and getting so worked up that I developed pre-eclampsia. My BP was so high, and my self esteem was so low. I no longer wanted to see family, I didn't want to go outside, and I resented the thought that my pregnancy was causing this. When I found out that this would be my first boy people started to say that my body was rejecting the male hormones. What?! Why was my body fighting this baby boy that was growing inside me. Why was my body failing me? Was I not meant to have any boys? When you are pregnant you are already on an emotional roller coaster, but now this was just to overwhelming. I was depressed and that too made me feel guilty, it made me afraid, and I didn't want to tell anyone for fear they may think I was unstable or that something was "wrong" with me. I was put on bed rest after countless ER visits for my BP. I remember laying in the recliner in my bedroom watching my little girls play outside with my husband. I wanted to be a part of that fun, but I was unable to. I would cry and beat myself up for not being able to participate in all the activities my daughters were in, and felt I was missing out. My husband had to grocer shop, cook, work, clean, and all I could do was just sit on my recliner. If I had a doctor's appointment I would wear my baseball cap, and try to not make eye contact with anyone. My face was weeping, full of hives, and looked more purple than red.

10 Quotes To Help Inspire Us To Deliver Excellence
Excellence is defined as possessing the quality of being outstanding, basically having a strong sense of determination to be constantly doing our best. Do we achieve our best every day? Absolutely not. But the quality of excellence isn't about actually achieving our best every day, it's about working hard, consistently at a high standard, with the intention to continually improve and better ourselves. Excellence is about ambition, an attitude of always striving to be better than we were the day prior. Why is excellence so important to us? It's because it determines the level of success we can obtain in life. Excellence can extend to all aspects of our life, be it career, relationships, personality, endeavor, finance, family, spirituality, health, or our goals. There's a key message in some of the quotes today, that I have listed below, when it comes to excellence. Many of these individuals have linked the ability to possess excellence, coming off the back of applying ourselves to something we are passionate about. Many of us aren't committing ourselves to something we are passionate about, and it's exactly where so many of us go wrong in life, especially when it comes to career. Because so many of us just head off to a job each day, not for the enjoyment or satisfaction of the work, but just for the paycheck, we seldom perform at our best, or even go to work with the intention to do our best. We just head there to do the minimum what's required of us, and then get the hell out of there. We don't enjoy the time there one iota, we are constantly thinking about the weekend, holidays, and retirement, and we only apply ourselves just enough for management to believe we should be retained as an employee. That's not excellence in any way, shape, or form, but we don't seem to care, because to most of us, that job is nothing more than an outlet to ensure we have food on the table, a roof over our head, and reassurance that our bills are being paid.
