Like the beginning, Like the end.
2020, for everybody, is such a challenging year. I beg there are lots of people ranking their last year from one to ten. Well, I did rank, and it is 7/10 which is not too horrible as I gained “things” after losing “the other things”. It is to say, my first half 2020 is pretty normal: Friendship: Okay, relationship: awesome, job: fantastic! Oh, comparing with life back in Vietnam, my family and friends spent their Tet holiday (Asian New Year) in four months (Four months instead of two weeks like the other years back!). My last half year is officially a mess. At that time, my job and studying in Cardiff were delayed, and my lads somehow became really paranoid. Unexpectedly, all sides of my life had yet turned into disaster. I know some of us got to use Netflix, game, alcohol to make their lives more “breath-able”, but all they felt is weary and moaning all the time literally. Throwing back at the time, there were a bunch of Youtube and LinkedIn blogs talking about mental breakdown, teaching people how to keep the faith, the smile and think positive. Well, theory and practice are surely different things...

Reset. Refocus.
2020 was a year I think most will agree will never be forgotten. For me, in 2020 I suffered a great loss. I'm hanging onto this rollercoaster through this journey of grief. It is a life altering experience. You almost don't know what to do or what significance your life still has. Depression takes over. You become lost within yourself. The sadness fills your world. You go through a series of emotions and you forget what is important. Anxiety takes control. Sleepless nights. Headaches of worry and fear. Frustration and anger. This is what I've been going through. No motivation to do anything. Pushing loved ones away. The disconnect from family. Wine for soothing. Overall health going downhill. Guilt for having an okay day or for almost seeming happy. I've gained so much weight from depression eating and drinking. Always feeling down.

Life is known if we choose to see
No matter how you look at it whether you are dealt a bad hand in life which is probably the best thing in life to throw at you because you can either choose to stay down or get back up and it is up to you what to do and I do not think we are meant to do nothing. Nothing comes easier than working at what you want however, nothing can be done if you just sit there and feel sorry for yourself. I used to think that nothing would come to me because I was a failure, and the thing is life showed me more than what my parents could let alone my past relationships or my friends. Life has showed me a lot throughout the years which up to now I realize I was not paying attention because of my pain of losing people more than I could count. What people forget to see is the good in what your life must bring but it just does not happen overnight and working at it has its benefits once you think about it where you are now will not be compared to where you are now. The unknown is always going to be scary do not we owe it ourselves to know what is in store. Doubts can be at our minds but how can we do something if we just doubt ourselves, we will never know till we try so, why not go try something and push yourselves no matter how long it takes life will always show us things we can see we just need to pay attention and we will see what it must show us. Whatever we go through will always test us and most people have a hard time of letting go for that reason we can’t find what we want because of what we can’t let go which makes life pass us by. We are so busy over the hurting we go through we don’t stop to look at what we should be doing after it’s all said and done so, thinking about something else is something we don’t do and get distracted by what life gives us as a lesson. Negatively seeing it is a given we all go through that but what does that negative effect on facing it teach us or it is forgotten as a lesson when a person doesn’t want to face it for whichever reason and in all facts there’s never an easy way to face things that hurt us in life. The growing pains of our lives aren’t constant and if you see life as a negative lesson there’s also a reason why it’s a negative lesson that you may not see at first but if you look closely enough, you’ll see what life has to show you after the grief you’ve gone through if you choose to see it. The good and bad of life can be twisting enough to drive you crazy moreover once we think about the events we go through as human beings lead us to a path which is either good or bad that can be taken back depending on the situation you’re in. When the dust settles it’s really up to you if you want to change the place you’re at now to the place where you need to be in life you are your own downfall to making yourself fail at what you want because if you don’t change your mindset you’re only going to set yourself up to fail and working for your future is more better than doing nothing when life has got you on the ropes but what should be a given is not giving up because what life throws your way.

Inner Flame
Guided, no gliding; space and time beside me. Wondering why I can’t place my face in to the trash. Things I've been through a multitude, but just not as brash. Spring steps from within to compliment the motion of promotion. Weight on my conscious lead based now removed. How come I can’t infiltrate the muse you consistently use to infuse indoctrination? It’s among the things that caused the majority of the infiltration to impatience. Distance I can make it like a bull brazen through the infernal blazing. Stir the commotion to differentiate the bases. Lessening the reflection of many races to reveal the surface if what's truly amazing but never constructed to confines of a matrix. Sizzling the buds can you taste it? Much more included ignoring the vacant, yet stead pacing. Connections displaced in the visual facing. Out of a cast of the molders making the concept of the avid basic. Shedding the sheer thoughts of being complacent I'm now adjacent to adjustment. The suffix is sufficient for the suffering but we shall not circumvent the way to remake it. Wrestling through the brush to arrive on the side that meets the eye revealing our greatest side. Besides the evident attraction does apples really appease the size of the challenge to mend lives? I'll arrive in an instant to decide, but in the meant time why rush the evident let's enjoy this ride. Forth coming to the conclusion amid the demonstrations leading to the truths of such a provocation. Some shall deny but my mind accepts the invitation. Elation in the safest yet swiftest style to meet the boasting bodacious irreconcilable side. Separating the heart felt weakness that resides below the surface that wants to rise. Taking chances amid the vile in the wild as trial to reach the end of a mile. Stones unhinged yet bends the soft tip ends of modernized trends set a fire. Below the pillars to disconnect the broken wires. Embellish the desired that required all of the internal fire to project the imagination to a conscious higher. Lowering thy guards to see what's truly happening is that of the actions entitled. Am I sparking the interest are resisting the tension. Should I mention the notion of lost imprints? Wide eyed to what's affirmative holding close enough to breach the census. Without consent to deter the attention overly accessed settling to inching. Nonetheless be vigilant and relentless for what's to overcome has been consistently mentioned. No wind so intricate can breeze through and blow out the majorities’ ascension. Flickering particles a part of me that startled you. The roots so deep it’s a part of more than two. Admitting to its truth lead outward and reduce the misuse of what's true to whom seeks the best majority in the room. Looming under the ferment shining through to greet the star. Shows just how much more were truly involved. Never allow the space to starve out the charge. Static in statistics takes us way above the circumvented at large. Remember the tug boat is what leads the barge. Cinders and coals that spark the fuel that pushes out the arch seems like the same steam allowing us to feel so parched. Mending the cross hairs to be a swift air that connects the rich flare to spark the flame amidst air. Aromatic accents attached on a search I hatched out matched to forever outlast a bang from a big blast. Mustering the voice to object for I rekindled what was once doused. Tearing through the atmospheric boundaries bright enough to be foreseen. Illuminating my biggest dreams my inner flame has now been redeemed.

The Pandemic Tried Killing My Motivation. I Fought Back.
The pandemic has attempted to destroy what some (or most?) of us think being productive means; however, I believe that's bullshit--I one hundred percent believe that's bullshit. What productivity could be to one person might be nothing compared to another, and coupled with my own struggles with mental health I've come to the conclusion that nobody can tell someone else what being productive means.

Be that person.
I experienced a life altering loss in 2020. A loss that has changed me forever. As I learn how to adapt to this grieving process each day continues to have it's challenges. Right before the holidays one of my closest friends also experienced a great loss. As I witnessed her life too forever changed, I knew exactly what she was going through and the journey of grief to come. In life despite what we may be going through, you hope to have people there for you during your darkest days and in return you do the same for them. I was in the midst of my pain and I still had to be there for my friend as hers began. I attended the funeral and showed my support. Clenching back tears during the service was hard. Not only feeling sympathy for my friend and her family but a wave of emotions hit me because it was all too familiar. From that day I told her that I would be her shoulder to lean on if she needed, with a sense of relief that I'd have some one who understands what I've been going through. I would check up on her daily, send her prayers and uplifting quotes. Even though I was hurting internally, caring for others never stopped for me. I always had it in me to make sure the people I care for are okay. It's like a quote I read "The best way to cheer yourself up is to try to cheer somebody else up." I feel this is so true. No matter what your going through you genuinely still want to see others happy. Christmas was approaching and thinking about everyone else was always on my mind. I had my list of people who I felt the need to gift. My friend was at the top of the list. Of course I knew I wanted to give her something of sentimental value. I decided to order a custom made ornament that signified her loved one. I knew she would love and cherish it. I somehow found a sense of peace giving special gifts to the people I cared for. That was my thing. Not everyone experiences the holidays the same and it doesn't always bring happiness. My sadness deepened as Christmas approached. I was struggling and I knew others often do as well for many different reasons. I wanted to show kindness in any way I could. I wanted to support people in anyway I could. I decided all my gifts would be from small businesses. I knew how hard 2020 had been for small business and that one purchase can turn someone's circumstances right around. So I found small businesses through Facebook marketplace and got all my gifts. With COVID going on I knew that the Holidays can affect the seniors the most. I work part-time at a seniors building as a concierge, so I see first hand what some go through. With strict rules and regulations in place, a lot of the seniors could not have family visit them during Christmas. Many of them were all alone and stricken with sadness. I decided to show a kind gesture and gift a few with cookies. It wasn't much but they were appreciative. I also offered the ones in need to do personal shopping for them. I would purposely engage in conversation and crack jokes with some even if they weren't quite in the mood. It was an act to show them that they are thought of and they are not alone through this tough time. I knew how I felt during the holidays and still feel and I don't wish anyone to feel the same, so I will continue to due my part and give back wherever I can and continue to care for the people that matter the most. Life is too short and full of negativity, hardship, loneliness. You never truly know what any act of kindness small of big can change someone's whole world. Who knows that act could also be the road to healing from them!
